Vanek's Views: DraftKings NFL DFS Picks for Week 3

Cowboys wide receiver Lamb

Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings for Week 3. Formerly of The 33rd Team and 4for4 Fantasy Football, Jordan’s deep dive into the best stacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends is a must-read before you start building your lineups.

We’re building on what we learned in Week 2 to deliver strong analysis for Week 3. This slate is loaded with backup QBs, injury reports to monitor, and teams the field is already starting to give up on. So what stood out in Week 2? The Packers look like the best defense in football, the Eagles’ offense is a legitimate concern when it comes to generating explosive passing plays, and the Jets are not the offensive line I thought they would be.

The real difference-maker in Week 3 NFL DFS is understanding the impact of injuries—pinpointing which teams improve with a key return and which ones struggle after a critical loss. That’s the focus of this article. With our NFL DFS projections and projected ownership, we can identify the leverage spots and gain an edge on the field.

NFL DFS DraftKings Picks: Top Stacks, RBs, WRs, & TEs for Week 3

Game Stacks

Dak Prescott ($5,900, QB, Dallas Cowboys)

CeeDee Lamb ($8,000, WR, Dallas Cowboys)

George Pickens ($5,900, WR, Dallas Cowboys)

DJ Moore ($5,400, WR, Chicago Bears)

Dallas Cowboys QB Prescott

The Bears were just torched by the Lions passing attack, and I’d be shocked if Dallas doesn’t exploit them in a big way. This is the first defensive line Dallas has faced that should give Dak time to execute deep shots, and I expect him to have a dominant day. Adding to that, Matt Eberflus was formerly the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, giving Dallas some inside knowledge of the Bears’ weaker defenders. Right now, Chicago is allowing over 9.0 yards per pass attempt, and outside of J.J. McCarthy’s first three quarters, they’ve shown no ability to defend the pass.

On the other side, the Cowboys have struggled to defend the middle of the field, which plays perfectly into DJ Moore’s skill set. It’s been the Rome Odunze show so far this season, but Moore is well positioned to put up numbers against Dallas’ zone-heavy scheme.
