Vanek's Views: DraftKings NFL DFS Picks for Week 6
Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings for Week 6. Formerly of The 33rd Team and 4for4 Fantasy Football, Jordan’s deep dive into the best stacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends is a must-read before you start building your lineups.
Week 5 is when NFL offenses typically start to form real identities—and when coordinators begin borrowing concepts that have worked against the same defenses in prior weeks. With new play callers settling in, we’re about to see several offenses take a major step forward.
A great example is the Jaguars under Liam Coen, who are finally finding their rhythm offensively. A statement win at home against the Chiefs could build serious momentum for the weeks ahead. There’s also one wide receiver in particular I expect to have another big performance this weekend.
With a smaller slate on tap, there are even more opportunities to get creative and deploy unique strategies, and I’ll share one of my favorites in my final thoughts.
The ownership will be more condensed come Sunday with fewer games and more injuries. That is where our NFL DFS projections and projected ownership numbers can showcase the leverage on the slate. I personally love balanced builds this weekend, and I will be paying attention to ownership for my pathway to a big weekend.

NFL DFS DraftKings Picks: Top Stacks, RBs, WRs, & TEs for Week 6
Game Stacks
Bryce Young ($4,800, QB, Carolina Panthers)
Tetairoa McMillan ($6,000, WR, Carolina Panthers)
Javonte Williams ($6,400, RB, Dallas Cowboys)
Jake Ferguson ($5,300, TE, Dallas Cowboys)
The Cowboys are a much stronger run defense than pass defense, and they’ll look to force Bryce Young to win through the air. That actually plays to Young’s strengths, as he’s an anticipation thrower who can exploit the soft spots in Dallas’ heavy zone coverage. The player best positioned to benefit is Tetairoa McMillan. He leads the team in targets against zone coverage and has dominated on the boundary, accounting for over 55% of Young’s out-wide attempts. The Cowboys have allowed more than 13 yards per attempt and 8 touchdowns to perimeter receivers this season, putting McMillan in a great spot for another big performance.
Carolina’s run defense has looked improved this season, but that’s largely due to a soft schedule. The Jaguars and Falcons both averaged over 5 yards per carry, while the Panthers only managed to limit weaker rushing offenses like the Cardinals, Patriots, and Dolphins. The numbers look better than they really are, and now they face one of the league’s most efficient rushing attacks in Dallas.
With Williams leading the way, the Cowboys’ ground game has been dominant, and that success on the ground sets up perfectly for play-action. That’s where Jake Ferguson comes in. The Panthers have consistently struggled to defend tight ends; even Darren Waller topped 70 yards in the first half before Miami went away from him. Ferguson has seen 7 or more targets in 4 straight games and should again be featured heavily, especially as a red-zone weapon.
