Primetime Parlay: Vikings vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay Picks and Props
Throughout the NFL season, this article will examine building same game parlays across various sports betting sites for primetime NFL matchups. We will examine stats, roster news, trends, player props and betting odds across sportsbooks to pick the most profitable combination of outcomes for primetime games. Now let’s build our Vikings vs. Eagles same game parlay for Monday Night Football.
Monday Night Fooball takes a new form this evening as the Titans travel to Buffalo to play the Bills almost concurrently with our primetime showdown between the Vikings and the Eagles. The Eagles play host to Minnesota as both teams look to open the season 2-0. With a relatively high total and tight spread, this game has all of the trappings necessary for single game parlay fun. Let’s build one of what could be many same game parlays for tonight’s slate.
Vikings vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay Odds Preview
On Caesars Sportsbook, the Eagles are pegged as 2.5-point favorites against the Minnesota Vikings. At the time of this writing, the total rests at 49 points with both sides carrying the -110 tag. The Eagles are barely given an edge because of home field advantage with Justin Jefferson and company putting on a show against the Packers in the opening week of the season.
Both teams come into this game in great health and in relatively good form. The Eagles went back-and-forth versus Detroit after leading the game early while the Vikings left no doubt against Aaron Rodgers and his band of youthful receivers. Justin Jefferson went bonkers — catching 9 balls for 184 yards and two touchdowns. On more than one occasion, Jefferson was wide open in the Green Bay secondary. Jefferson will look to continue the scuttlebutt surrounding his position as top receiver in the league against an Eagles secondary that struggled with Lions’ receivers in Week 1.
This game has shootout written all over it. We love our shootouts. Will both offenses be forced to sling the ball all over the yard? Will the game go over? Can the Eagles dominate the line of scrimmage and keep the ball out of Cousins’ hands? Let’s put the puzzle together.
Vikings-Eagles Parlay Picks & Props
Take the Under
The game is going to generate a lot of buzz with AJ Brown and Justin Jefferson on opposite sides of the field. The Vikings have a high-powered passing offense while the Eagles demonstrated last week that they can score a bunch of points. That said, I don’t want to overreact to one week of football
The Eagles LOVE to run the football. Between a dynamic quarterback and like 1,000 running backs (really three), Philadelphia is very current to lean on their all-world offensive line to grind out a football game. Philadelphia record 39 rushing attempts last week after averaging 31.5 rushing attempts per game last season (ranked second). This team wants to run the ball and there is no better way to keep the ball out of a star wide receiver’s hands.
At home, the Eagles will look to take advantage of a defense that let up 130.7 rushing yards per game on the ground last season. The Vikings allowed 6.2 yards per carry against the Packers in Week 1 but made up for it with big plays on defense. The Eagles will commit to the run and limit the passing volume of Jalen Hurts. For that reason, I want some form of the under in this game.
A.J. Brown Receiving Yards
I gave away my hand a bit in the previous set of paragraphs. Obviously, if I think the total is going under, picking off some unders in player props would make sense. A.J. Brown sits with a 74.5-yard receiving prop on DraftKings Sportsbook and that is going to be a big no thank you for me. Brown debuted in excellent fashion for the Eagles — converting 13 targets for 10 catches and 155 yards. My fantasy football team could use that type of performance tonight but I don’t see that being the case at home against this defense.
The Eagles will likely use the ground game and let the clock bleed and bleed and bleed. If the Eagles take an early lead, don’t expect Brown to pile up too many yards tonight. We are going under with our parlay.
Jalen Hurts Rushing Yards
I am not sure that going over on rushing yards is going to correlate with our underfest we have brewing… but it might. I hope it does and will surely test this out when we pick our sports betting site for building this parlay. The most trustworthy option, in my opinion, for the Eagles on the ground is the guy who touches the football on every parlay. Philadelphia will scheme plays for Hurts to take off and that doesn’t include all of the times he takes what the defense gives him on a play.
Jalen Hurts boasts a 51.5 rushing prop on FanDuel Sportsbook. That feels ripe for a tease to get over a more palatable number.
Dalvin Cook Receptions
I am desperately looking for another over to help counterbalance my previous unders. While the Vikings will play from behind in the script I have written, Dalvin Cook should get some work through the air. Cook saw more than 72% of the snaps and ran 17 routes in Week 1. The superstar back was targeted five times, converting 3 for catches and a pittance of yardage.
We shouldn’t be shocked if the Vikings use Cook in the screen game and if Kirk Cousins is forced to check down a few times early in the game. If the Vikings are playing from behind, our likelihood for more catches can only improve. We are going go over with the friendliest number we can find.
MNF Single Game Parlay Review
We are back on DraftKings again because we can’t get receptions on FanDuel. DraftKings does offer a bit more flexibility because we can tease unders instead of using the pre-loaded over bands they offer for player props. When we finally prefer some of the pre-built lines, we will likely get to Caesars or FanDuel. Be sure to shop around with whatever you land on for the best possible odds.
Vikings vs. Eagles SGP Picks:
- Under 49.5 Points
- A.J. Brown Under 79.5 Receiving Yards
- Jalen Hurts Over 44.5 Rushing Yards
- Dalvin Cook 3+ Receptions
Parlay Price: +575
Risk: 1/2 unit to win 2.875 units
