Washington Football vs. Dallas Cowboys Same Game Parlay Picks

Happy Holidays, Grinders! I hope you had a happy, healthy, and safe day with your loved ones. It was a Christmas for the ages—we enjoyed multiple football games as well as the yearly feast of NBA basketball. But now it’s Sunday, and it’s time to dive right back into a Same Game Parlay for Sunday Night Football. Tonight, we have the Washington Football Team traveling to face the division-rival Dallas Cowboys in Arlington. It should be a good one, and another opportunity for us to cash in on the hottest new betting feature in sports.

For anyone not familiar with Same Game Parlays, they are basically parlays consisting of multiple correlated wagers from one specific game. They provide bettors with a plethora of options to bet a game—and piece together props into a parlay within that game—beyond just the standard spread, moneyline, and over/under totals.

SGPs have become one of the most popular ways to bet on professional sports, and we’ve been assembling parlay bets this way on PointsBet all season. Our SGP column last Thursday, for the Chiefs-Chargers primetime divisional clash, hit it big! Check out this seven-leg beauty that would have cashed you $300 on a $50 bet.

Now let’s jump right into our Sunday Night Football SGP!

Washington vs. Cowboys Same Game Parlay

Total Odds (5 Legs): +500

Pick Your Own Line: WFT +17.5 (-325)

You basically create your own odds with SGPs, tailoring your spreads and over/under totals to whatever numbers you feel comfortable betting. Readers know full well that I never feel safe betting primetime lines set by sportsbooks—it’s just always way too much of a gamble. So, I generally buy 4.5 to 7.5 points one way or the other ahead of any night game. This evening, I’m buying 8.5 points for the underdog, pushing WFT from +9 to +17.5. Hey, I want to win this thing—not all the legs need to look pretty! Ron Rivera’s Football Team is in a must-win situation tonight, essentially bounced from even sniffing the playoffs if they lose. They played Dallas tough a couple weeks ago, but still fell 27-20. Since then, WFT lost Taylor Heinicke to COVID protocols, then got forced into a Tuesday game due to a COVID outbreak. Heinicke is cleared to play tonight, but multiple Washington players will still be missing, including safety Landon Collins, cornerback William Jackson III, and linebacker/defensive play-caller Cole Holcomb. I do think WFT puts up a good fight tonight, but I can’t trust a nine-point spread either way. WFT is highly motivated but undermanned and coming off a short week, while Dallas is hot (and 11-3 ATS) but alternates 10-point wins with three or four-point wins. Play it super safe, and build a trusty foundation for your parlay.

Alternate Totals: UNDER 54.5 (-325)

Here’s another great move in SGP-building: move the over/under by six to eight points—one way or the other—every single night game. Oddsmakers live very comfortable lives picking over/under totals that almost always seem to come down to the wire. Well, live your best life by giving yourself a two-score cushion! Both Washington and Dallas have had the UNDER hit in eight of their 14 games this season. The Cowboys average 28.6 points per game, while WFT averages 20.2. With Cowboys rookie linebacker Micah Parsons dominating this season, and second-year cornerback Trevon Diggs picking off passes like it’s going out of style, I think WFT will be held to between 17-20 points for the fifth straight week. And if that’s the case, there will be no need for Mike McCarthy’s ‘boys to put up 35 points. They’ll just ride the clock with the running game, and stay in second place in the NFC, hot on the tail of the first-place Packers.

Home Team Total: OVER 20.5 (-425)

We are cruising through this parlay build, with three straight easy-money picks. Now, you may be shaking your head at these odds, telling yourself there’s no reason to bet such heavily-favored legs in a parlay. But look at the total odds our SGP is at right now: +155. If you can get three very winnable legs at +155, it’s worlds better than one toss-up at -110. The Cowboys have scored at least 21 points in four straight games, and five of their last six. They beat WFT 27-20 on December 12, and then the Eagles beat WFT 27-17 on Tuesday. Take the easy green here—Dallas averages 35.5 points at home, and Washington will be without multiple key defensive starters.

Total 1st Quarter: OVER 6.5 (-276)

We’re all over the scoring props in this game, apparently! I like this one as well, because I think both teams will put their feet on the gas early. Dallas needs to stay aggressive to try for the No. 1 seed (and playoff bye), while WFT must win to stay alive in the playoff chase. Over the past four weeks, the Cowboys have scored six, 18, seven, and six points in the first quarter. WFT has scored 10, 0, 7, and 3 in its last four first quarters. Combined, that’s an average of 7.1 points per first quarter. Dak Prescott and company always seem to start strong in divisional clashes, and Heinicke returning for WFT means this shouldn’t be a field goal battle. I like our odds—let’s keep this crazy train rolling.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer: Ezekiel Elliott (-131)

Here’s our only risky prop of the parlay, which pushed us from +270 to +500. Elliott is having a pedestrian year by his standards, and he’s obviously battled some nagging injuries throughout the season. But he’s still grinding! He has churned out 4.3 yards per carry on the season, and scored nine touchdowns plus three two-point conversions. I think Zeke will be running with a purpose tonight, fresh off his recent Pro Bowl snub that probably chaps his ass more than we could imagine. Washington allowed Philly to amass 238 rushing yards and two rushing TDs on Tuesday—I think Zeke will eat tonight, and we’ll be eating Filet Mignon if we hit this five-legger.
