Wednesday NBA: DraftStreet $500 Guaranteed
Positional Value Picks

Tippy is off cruising the ocean, getting a tan, and drinking some Coronas – so you’re stuck with me today instead of the beloved Tipp-Off. Deal with it. PTI wouldn’t be as entertaining over the long-term without the occasional drop-in from Dan LeBatard anyways, so allow me to sit in front of my beautiful Florida back-drop and give you the value picks you’ll be needing to top the inaugural Large-Field Wednesday NBA contest on DraftStreet.
That’s right! DraftStreet keeps the heat coming, this time in the form of a guaranteed prize pool. A $500 purse isn’t usually enough to get my juices flowing, but I’m really pumped about DraftStreet’s contest tonight for two reasons. 1) It’s not unilimited entries. It’s not one-entry. It’s capped at three entries! Your mind is blown. Thanks for being innovative D to the dollar sign. 2) Draft$treet now has the capability for large-field contests. That might sound redundant, but think about it. While this is only $500; it’s clearly a sign of much more awesomeness to come. With that said, if you’re not yet a member of D$, make sure to use the RG DraftStreet Recruiting Code Grinders to get our exclusive 40% deposit bonus up to $150 when joining. Here are some of the cheapest and best value options for Wednesday:
Positional Picks

GUARD
- Ramon Sessions – He’s the #1 guard over the last 7 days, averaging 32 over the last 15, and is under $10k. He’s a shoe-in tonight.
- Anthony Parker – He put up 21, 12, 29, and 25 in his last 4 and is back in the starting lineup. Nothing to get excited about, but his price tag is: $7,622. That’s dirt cheap on ‘the $treet’
- Tracy McGrady – DraftStreet incentivizes non-scoring categories – which has actually be T-Mac’s biggest fantasy asset this season. Another strong value play for the under $10k price tag.
FORWARD
- J.J. Hickson – Fantasy value is the only thing positive about the Cavs NBA situation right now. I don’t think JJ is a secret anymore by any stretch of the imagination, but for only $9,600 – we have another Cavalier shoe-in
- Amir Johnson – Amir is averaging 33.9 over the last 15 days, including an explosive 50+ FP night. For $11,286, he could be the most valuable pick on DraftStreet tonight.
- Andrei Kirilienko – This is my interesting choice of the night. I like AK47 in this situation because he’ll be overlooked by many players in the large-field contest because he’s coming off an injury and because he’s not as powerful in scoring systems on other sites so players won’t be looking out for him. He’s bounced back from injuries his whole career, and with his ability to produce in all categories, he could be a good asset tonight for a modest price under $12,000
- DeMarcus Cousins – For right around $11,000, DeMarcus is a great pick. He’s averaging 32.4 over the last 15.
CENTER
- Greg Monroe – Greg has two 30 point games in his last 3, and a 42 point game in his recent log. He’s got the ceiling and should be able to produce against the putrid Cavaliers. At $8,991, he makes for a great value Center pick.
