$3,000 FanDuel Slam Tourney Picks, Lineups and Injuries

ft_nba_3000

There are 13 games on the NBA board for tonight’s Fanduel $3000 Slam Tournament and I’ve picked a couple of sleepers and value picks for each NBA game. These guys are great cheap roster fillers with big upside who can give your roster an extra boost, while also allowing you to save enough salary to play a few studs at other positions. I have created a forum thread for all of the latest injuries and lineups just in case any player’s status changes after this article is published.

Phoenix @ Cleveland

PHO Probable: Nash, Carter, Hill, Frye, Lopez/Gortat

CLE Probable: Williams/Sessions, Harris/Gibson, Jamison, Hickson

J.J. Hickson ($5900) – Anderson Varejao is out for the season and Hickson has taken over the starting center position for the Cavs. He’s got a great matchup against a fairly weak interior for the Suns.

Ramon Sessions ($5900) – Mo Williams suffered a hip injury in his last game and could miss this one. Sessions should get the start if Mo is out.

Vince Carter ($6600) – Carter has taken over for Jason Richardson in Phoenix and just keeps jacking shots. He’s averaging 16.4 shot attempts in his first 10 games with Phoenix. Expect 15-18 attempts against the Cavs.

Grant Hill ($6400) – Missed a couple of games with an injury and his price dropped. Good value.

Utah @ New Jersey

UTA Probable: D. Williams, Bell, Kirilenko, Millsap, Jefferson

NJN Probable: Harris, Farmar, Outlaw, Humphries, B. Lopez

Kris Humphries ($6600) – Humphries’ price is starting to creep up just a bit, but the guy is consistent and he’s nearly averaging a double-double every night.

C.J. Miles ($5800) – Miles continues to get good minutes as the 6th man in Utah. He’s averaged 17 points and 4 rebounds over his last 4 games.

Philadelphia @ Orlando

hedo%20turkoglu%20taks%20with%20dwight

PHI Probable: Holiday, Meeks/Williams, T. Young, Brand, Hawes

ORL Probable: Nelson, J. Richardson, Turkoglu, Bass/Anderson, Howard

Andre Iguodala ($6200) – This is a Fanduel mispricing due to Iguodala being out with an Achilles problem. He’s back and looking healthy. The $6200 is a gift.

Lou Williams ($6000) – Williams has averaged 20.0 points a game over his last 6 games. He’s getting an average of about 14 shot attempts over those 6 games.

Thaddeus Young ($6200) – Andres Nocioni is out for Philadelphia and Young has been able to pick up some extra minutes. He should get around 30 minutes tonight and can put up stats in several categories.

Hedo Turkoglu ($6400) – He’s a bit inconsistent, but his stats have jumped since arriving in Orlando, however his price hasn’t yet caught up with the increase in production.

Detroit @ Boston

DET Probable: Stuckey, McGrady, Prince, Villanueva/Daye, Monroe

BOS Probable: Rondo, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, Shaq

Kevin Garnett ($6100) – Yes, Kevin Garnett at only $6100. Another mispricing caused by a player being out for awhile due to injury. Everyone will capitalize on the Fanduel mispricing.

Shaq O’Neal ($5400) – Jermaine O’Neal is out with a knee injury and Kendrick Perkins isn’t ready yet, so Shaq should get around 25 minutes in this one. The Pistons are missing Ben Wallace and Shaq could dominate the rookie, Greg Monroe.

Greg Monroe ($5900) – Ben Wallace is out and Monroe has the starting center spot all to himself. He’s been on a fantasy tear since entering the starting lineup. His matchup against Shaq is a tough one, but the price is right and this could turn into a blowout, thereby allowing Monroe some garbage time stats against Boston‘s second team.

Tracy McGrady ($5600) – McGrady has taken over at PG for the Pistons while Rip Hamilton rides the pine. This is a risky play since McGrady exited his last game with a nagging leg injury. If you use McGrady, be sure to confirm his game time status.

Memphis @ New Orleans

MEM Probable: Conley, Young/Mayo, Gay, Randolph, M. Gasol

NOR Probable: Paul, Belinelli, Ariza, West, Okafor

Jarrett Jack ($5100) – Marco Belinelli suffered an ankle injury which caused him to miss a game and limit him to only 15 minutes in his last outing. Jack was the pick to replace Belinelli and he could get some good run again tonight.

Washington @ Milwaukee

rashard%20lewis%20wizards

WAS Probable: Wall, Hinrich, Lewis, Blatche, McGee

MIL Probable: Dooling, Salmons, Mbah a Moute/Ilyasova, Gooden, Bogut

Nick Young ($6600) – Young has averaged 41 minutes a game over his last 4, while scoring an average of 28 points over those four games. He should get plenty of minutes in this one too.

Rashard Lewis ($6700) – He’s still getting all the minutes he can handle and keeps putting up solid lines. The Milwaukee defense is pretty tough, but Lewis should still be able to earn his salary.

Andray Blatche ($7000) – Blatche is at the upper extreme of what I consider a value pick, but he’s playing some great basketball right now and I couldn’t leave him out.

New York @ Houston

NYK Probable: Felton, Fields, Gallinari, Chandler, Stoudemire

HOU Probable: Lowery/Brooks, Martin, Battier, Scola, Hayes

Danilo Gallinari ($5800) – Fanduel system mispricing. Gallinari has missed a few games due to injury, but his price just continued to fall while he was out. You might as well take advantage of the mispricing against a Houston team that likes to run the floor.

Chuck Hayes ($5000) – Stoudemire is technically listed as the center for the Knicks, but they really don’t play a traditional game using a center and Hayes may be able to take advantage of that fact. Hayes could easily put up a double-double in this one.

Toronto @ San Antonio

TOR Probable: Calderon, DeRozan, Wright, A. Johnson/Davis, Bargnani

SAS Probable: Parker, Ginobili, Jefferson, Blair, Duncan

DeMar DeRozan ($6400) – The Raptors are missing Weems and Kleiza, so DeRozan should get a few extra shots. He’s really turned it on lately getting around 35 minutes a night over the last couple of weeks. He can have some big nights, as evidenced by his 37 point game two weeks ago against Houston. He’s also had several 20+ point games lately.

Ed Davis ($5300) – He’s played about 30 minutes in each of his last two games and responded with some great stats, averaging 13pts/10reb/2blk in those two games. He’s got a tough matchup against the Spurs, but he’s cheap.

LA Lakers @ Dallas

dirk%20nowitzki

LAL Probable: Fisher, Bryant, Artest, Odom/Bynum, P. Gasol

DAL Probable: Kidd, Terry, Marion, Nowitzki, Chandler

Shawn Marion ($6300) – He was a better deal while Dirk was out, but he still has the starting SF spot for the Mavs and should get plenty of minutes in a game that will be contested until the end.

Dirk Nowitzki ($6700) – Fanduel system mispricing. Enjoy using him at this ridiculous price, because everyone else will.

Andrew Bynum ($5800) – He’s getting healthy and has settled into a nice 30 minute a night groove.

Oklahoma City @ Denver

OKC Probable: Westbrook, Sefolosha/Harden, Durant, Green, Krstic/Ibaka/Collison

DEN Probable: Billups, Afflalo, Anthony, Harrington/Martin, Nene

Al Harrington ($5800) – Kenyon Martin is struggling with his knees again, so Harrington should get some decent run in this one. He can score and has a good matchup against a very average Jeff Green. This play gets even better if there is action on a Melo trade.

Carmelo Anthony ($7600) – Another mispricing under the Fanduel system. Melo should easily earn the abnormally low salary.

Portland @ Sacramento

marcus%20camby

POR Probable: Miller, Matthews, Batum, Aldridge, Camby/Cunningham

SAC Probable: Udrih, Evans, Casspi, Landry, Cousins

Nicolas Batum ($6200) – He’s averaging around 36 minutes a game since Christmas and putting up some great stats. He should get 10-12 shot attempts and grab 5 or 6 rebounds.

Dante Cunningham ($4500) – This play strictly depends on the status of Marcus Camby. If Camby misses this game, Cunningham should get the start against Cousins.

DeMarcus Cousins ($6900) – His price has been creeping up lately due to his good play, but he’s still below my $7000 value pick cutoff price. He becomes a great play if Camby misses this game.

Beno Udrih ($6900) – Udrih has been putting up some good lines lately, especially when Tyreke Evans is out. Check the lineups to see if Evans if playing and give Udrih a start if Evans can’t go.

Indiana @ Golden State

IND Probable: Collison, Rush/Dunleavy, Granger, Hansbrough, Hibbert

GSW Probable: Curry, Ellis, Wright, Lee, Biedrins

Darren Collison ($6700) – Put up a season high 30 points in his last game and he looks primed for a great second half. Collison may just now be getting a grip on the Indiana offense. He’s got a great matchup against a high scoring Warriors team that doesn’t play much defense.

Stephen Curry ($6900) – Curry hasn’t been playing that well lately, but at $6900 he should be able to outperform his salary.

Minnesota @ LA Clippers

MIN Probable: Ridnour/Flynn, Brewer, Beasley, Love, Milicic

LAC Probable: Davis, E. Gordon, Gomes/Aminu, Griffin, Jordan

Corey Brewer ($5700) – Wesley Johnson got a DNP-CD while Brewer took over the starting SG spot. He should get another start tonight and makes a great play at only $5700 in what should be a high scoring game.

Martell Webster ($4800) – Not a bad play for only $4800. He should get 25 minutes putting up 12pts/6reb.
