Week 10 Kings: QBs & RBs
Quarterback
Peyton Manning ($9,700) – I have a feeling that Peyton Manning will actually be under owned this week due to the emergence of some nice value plays. Aaron Rodgers also makes for a great play this week, but for my money I will take the best, Peyton Manning. The Broncos have a team total sitting right around 30 points. I do not envision a scenario where Peyton does not finish this game with at least 275 yards and three TDs.
Ben Roethlisberger ($7,500) – Some might make the assumption that making this recommendation is case of point chasing, that simply is not the case. Big Ben has thrown for a dozen TDs in the last two games; this type of output is unheard of. The Steelers now travel to New York to face off with the Jets who are currently ranked as the league’s worst pass defense. The recent production and match-up could not be any better for Ben Roethlisberger, the price tag is just icing on the cake.
Drew Brees ($8200) – Drew Brees is over $1,000 less than Rodgers and Manning, which makes him a great value play this week. No, the match-up is not ideal, however I think that fact that this game is being played in New Orleans cancels out the risk. Brees and the Saints entire team continue to perform much better at home. Brees is also a guy that will be under owned this 8week due to the perception of a tough match-up.
Mark Sanchez ($5,400) – Mark Sanchez will most likely be a very popular value play this week for a couple of reasons. First off, his price is dirt cheap at $5,400, which will give you the ability to roster basically any big name player that you want. Secondly, Sanchez will be stepping in as the QB for one of the league’s most potent offenses. Sanchez will not have to do much to pay off his price tag, 200 yards and two TDs will be more than enough to get the job done.
GPP
Matthew Stafford ($7,100) – Stafford has been bad without has top wide receiver, Calvin Johnson. Things should get a lot easier for Stafford with the expected return of Calvin. When Calvin is fully healthy, Stafford is a top ten fantasy option at the QB position. Stafford is cash game playable, however I’d prefer to use him in tournaments this week.
Running Back
DeMarco Murray & Matt Forte – These guys both make great plays, and there is enough value to fit one of these running backs into your roster this week. Not much more to be said here, if you feel comfortable with the rest of your team, then fire away.
LeSean McCoy ($5,600) – I must admit, I probably have McCoy ranked much higher this week than most. Price aside, I have McCoy ranked as a top five running back this week. The yards have been there for McCoy (averaging over 107) in his last four games; however the TDs have been nonexistent. The lack of TDs has kept McCoy’s price way down, under $6,000. McCoy is going to break out for a huge game very soon, and I think this is the week that it is going to happen. The Eagle are hosting the Carolina Panthers on Monday night, the game features a rather high O/U of 48 with the Eagles favored by six. Carolina does not have a good defense; they have surrendered the fourth most fantasy points to running backs.
Jamaal Charles ($6,400) – The DK pricing algorithm does not like Jamaal Charles very much. He appears to very under priced every week and this week is no different. At $6400, Jamaal Charles makes for a great value play against the Buffalo Bills. Yes, the Bills do have a tough run defense, but the very low price tag mitigates the risk. Charles is a lock for over 20 touches, making him a great value option for week ten.
Marshawn Lynch ($6,700) – Beast Mode finally reappeared last week with a punishing effort of 143 total yards, five receptions and two TDs. This was by far his best performance of the season and ended a three week drought for Lynch. The most promising part about Lynch’s performance was his activity in the passing game (five receptions, 76 yards). The match-up this week against the New York Giants, who possess the league’s third worst run defense, provides a great follow up opportunity for Lynch.
GPP
Le’Veon Bell ($7,000) – Most DFS players will be off Bell this week due to his tough match-up with the Jets run defense. I do not think it is wise to overlook Bell this week, if you look closely you will see that Bell has done most of his damage as a pass catching back this season. Bell is averaging over five receptions per game, if he happens to break lose at some point during this game, a monster performance will follow.
