Week 11 Kings: WRs & TEs
Wide Receiver
Jordy Nelson ($7,700) – Jordy Nelson rewarded our loyalty last week and had a very nice fantasy outing (six receptions, 152 yards and two touchdowns). The game between GB/PHI has a very high over/under of 55, which means having exposure to this game is probably a wise idea. Check out the RotoGrinders NFL Vegas Odds page for all of the over/unders for this week’s games. Philadelphia has surrendered the third most fantasy points to the wide receiver position this season. I have Nelson ranked as my top WR this week.
A.J. Green ($6,000) – A.J. Green has a very friendly price tag and a great match-up with the Saints. The entire Bengals offense was a complete mess last Thursday night against the Browns. After a long week of practice, it is safe to assume a much better performance out of the Bengals offense. The Saints secondary is very susceptible to big plays and that is exactly what Green does best. The Saints are favored by 7.5 in this game, therefore it is safe to assume the Bengals will be playing from behind and passing the ball quite a bit.
Kelvin Benjamin ($4,900) – Benjamin’s two garbage-time TDs on Monday night football decided many contests this past week (I must admit to being a beneficiary). His price remains ridiculously low at just $4,900. He will continue to see the bulk of the targets in the Carolina passing game, because they really don’t have any other competent WRs. The matchup this week is good as well; Atlanta has a very vulnerable pass defense (ninth-most fantasy points allowed).
Brandon Marshall ($5,800) – Monitor the injury status of Brandon Marshall; he has only practiced on a limited basis throughout the week. If he is a full go for the Bears week 11 match-up with the Vikings, he is an elite value play due to his low price. Marshall had a very nice bounce back game last week with eight receptions, 112 yards and a TD. If health in not a hindrance this week and Marshall is a full go, it is safe to assume a solid performance against the Vikings.
GPP
Calvin Johnson ($8,500) – Calvin will most likely be overlooked by most this week due to his recent injury stint. However, he showed us last week that the injury is a thing of the past, posting a solid 7/133 and a TD. Calvin is also cash game playable, but his price tag has him relegated to GPPs for my money.
Tight End
Rob Gronkowski ($7,900)/Jimmy Graham ($7,000) – If you choose to spend at the tight end position; I highly recommend playing either Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham. These two tight ends are much more skilled than other player at the position. Both guys are playing in games that have very high over/unders (both over 50).
Jordan Reed ($3,300) – Jordan Reed is much better than a $3,300 tight end. Reed has been the victim of non-stop changes at the QB position for the Redskins. This should begin to normalize this week in RG3’s second start back from injury. At $3,300, Reed is a nice low risk value play. For other value plays, check out RotoGrinders Notorious’ Bargain Bin Ballers.
GPP
Dwayne Allen ($4,200) – Allen has been a very productive red zone target for Andrew Luck. Allen has hauled in seven touchdowns on the season. Allen is a player that is very dependent on catching touchdowns; therefore he is best to be utilized in GPP formats. The hope is that Allen grabs multiple TDs, which is definitely possible in this projected, high scoring game.
