Week 12 Kings: QBs & WRs

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers ($9,900) – Rodgers is the most expensive quarterback on the board at $9,900, but he should be well worth the investment. Rodgers might just be the hottest QB in the leagues right now. He’s averaging 34 fantasy points over the Packers’ last three games. The Packers are rolling right now and Aaron Rodgers is making things look very easy. They are projected to score right around 28 actual points and you can count on Rodgers playing a huge role. For a complete listing of projected team totals, check out the RotoGrinders’ Vegas Odds Page.

Matt Ryan ($6,300) – Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcon’s offense is having difficulty getting things going. They’ve had many opportunities recently to get things going against bad defenses and have disappointed. The Falcons travel back home this week, where they play much better, to take on the Browns. The 4-6 Falcons should have some added motivation after they slid into first place last week.

Andrew Luck ($9,700) – Andrew Luck is currently the number one fantasy quarterback in the NFL, averaging slightly below 29 fantasy points per contest. His floor is higher than any other quarterback in the NFL (under 20 fantasy points one time all season), which makes him the safest QB to roster each week, regardless of the match-up. Luck has an elite match-up on Sunday with the inept Jacksonville Jaguars defense. I would not be worried about this games blowout potential due to the fact that lopsided games have not affected Luck’s output yet this season. In week three, against this same Jaguars team, Luck had his best fantasy game of the season (370 yards and four touchdowns).

Drew Brees ($8,200) – The price on Drew Brees continues to fall and he is now sitting at just $8,200. Much like Matt Ryan, we’ve become accustom to counting on Brees to produce much better stat lines. On paper, the match-up with the Ravens appears to be tough, however, Vegas does not agree as they have posted an over/under of 50 for this game. The Saints are fighting for first place, and I expect a vintage Brees performance on Monday night.

GPP

Peyton Manning ($9,400) cash game/GPP– Peyton Manning will be under owned this week for a couple reasons. First off, it appears as though Peyton will be without a couple of his favorite weapons; Julius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are both questionable to play this week. Secondly, much like last week, the match-up is very unappealing against the solid defense of the Miami Dolphins. Peyton seems to have his biggest games when the critics are counting him out, therefore I will gladly take the league’s best QB at his discounted rate this week.

Running Back

DeMarco Murray ($8,500) – Murray has failed to reach the end zone in three straight games after an amazing TD streak to start the season. The Giants currently rank dead last at stopping teams on the ground. Murray’s touches have remained consistent (at least 23 in the last three games), therefore any concerns should be limited. Murray will bounce back in a big way this week and pay off his $8,500 price tag.

Eddie Lacy ($7,300) – Lacy may have one of the easiest jobs in the NFL due to teams being completely focused on stopping
Aaron Rodgers. Lacy’s touches remain low (under 20 last two games); however he’s been able to find the end zone on three different occasions. Lacy should have a great opportunity to extend his TD streak to three games in his week 12 match-up with the Vikings. Minnesota is currently ranked as the eighth worst team at defending the running back position.

Matt Forte ($9,500) – Matt Forte is always in play on DK due to the full PPR scoring format. The match-up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is elite, as they rank in the bottom ten at defending the run. Forte is leading all running backs with 67 receptions on 83 total targets. If you can afford his prohibitive price tag, Forte makes for a great play.

Rashad Jennings ($5,100) – Jennings returned to action last week and saw 23 total touches. The results were a little disappointing (67 total yards) but this was mostly due to a tough match-up with the solid defense of the San Francisco 49ers. The match-up versus the Cowboys this week is better, as they have recently showed some vulnerability against the run. At just $5,100, you can expect Rashad Jennings to achieve value in week 12.

GPP

Andre Ellington ($5,800) – The Seahawks do not possess the same stingy defense that we have become accustom to in the past couple of seasons. Last week, this same Seahawks defense was torched by Jamaal Charles for 178 total yards and two touchdowns. Andre Ellington is by no means the same RB that Charles is; however he receives a consistent number of touches (over 23 in the last six games). He will definitely be under owned and makes for a great GPP only play.
