Week 14 Kings: QBs & RBs
Quarterback
Andrew Luck ($9,700) – Luck has quickly risen to the top of the quarterback ranks in the NFL. Luck is currently leading the way in terms of fantasy points scored on the season at 28.6 per game. Andrew is capable of some huge fantasy performances, as we saw last week when he threw for 370 yards and four TDs. Luck is a great top tier QB for week 14.
Drew Brees ($9,100) – Drew Brees has been great in the last two weeks, totaling 677 yards and eight TDs. The Saints head back home for a match-up with the struggling Carolina Panthers. Throughout his career, Brees has always performed much better at home and this week will be no exception. New Orleans is projected to score 30 points this week. Additionally, the Panthers have surrendered the ninth most fantasy points to the quarterback position as shown in the RotoGrinders NFL Defense vs. Position Rankings.
Russell Wilson ($7,700) – Russell Wilson has been a difficult quarterback to predict this season, however his match-up on Sunday is one to certainly check out. The Seahawks will be facing off with the fast paced offense of the Eagles, which will lead to some extra possessions for the Seahawks. Wilson’s floor is higher than most due to his ability to run the football. Wilson has averaged 21 fantasy points per game this season, and I think it is safe to pencil him for a similar output this week with the
potential for much more.
Eli Manning ($6,900) – Speaking of a guy that has been difficult to predict, I present Eli Manning. Manning has continuously disappointed the DFS community throughout his career; however the match-up this week is too good to be overlooked. The Tennessee Titan defense has looked like the worst in the NFL over the past couple weeks. Any defense that allows Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw for 350 yards and six TDs should be targeted the following week. The question is, will we get the good Eli or the bad Eli? I’m siding with the good Eli this week.
GPP
Ryan Tannehill ($7,300) – Tannehill was a disappointment last week in a great match-up with the weak secondary of the Jets. This performance will keep many eyes off of him this week. The Baltimore Ravens defense has fallen apart as of late, which was very evident last week when Philip River shredded them for 383 yards and three TDs. Tannehill is an ideal GPP candidate.
Running Back
Le’Veon Bell ($9,400) – He is going to cost you, but Le’Veon Bell will be worth it in week 14. Bell has been on fire the last two weeks with fantasy performances of 33.2 and 42.4. Bell is such a valuable commodity on full PPR sites due his increased involvement in the Steelers passing game (eight receptions last week). Bell is a top running back option in week 14.
Eddie Lacy ($7,800) – Eddie Lacy has the luxury of playing on one of the league’s most potent passing attacks. Lacy’s workload has been very high as of late (27 and 23 touches in the Packers last two games). The match-up does not get any better than a home game with the Atlanta Falcons. Atlanta owns the league’s worst run defense. The game circumstances do not get any better than this; therefore Lacy makes for a very solid week 14 play.
C.J. Anderson ($7,600) – C.J. Anderson has been receiving an insane workload due to all the injuries the Broncos have suffered at the running back position. In his last two games, Anderson has 34 and 31 touches, which put him in play against just about any defense. The match-up in week 14 is not spectacular, as the Buffalo Bills possess a very solid run defense. The increased workload mitigates the risk of facing this tough defense.
Tre Mason ($6,700) – You will be hard pressed to find a guy in the NFL going into week 14 with more confidence than Tre Mason. Mason exploded for 161 total yards and three TDs last week against the Raiders and will look to sustain this success in week 14 against the Washington Redskins. The price tag on Mason is not prohibitive, therefore I believe Mason is worth strong consideration this week.
GPP
Jamaal Charles ($8,500) – The match-up does not get any worse for Jamal Charles in week 14 when he faces off with the league’s best run defenses. Throughout his career Charles has flourished in very difficult match-ups, therefore he is worth a look this week. I would not recommend playing Charles in cash games, however I do believe he is worth the gamble in GPP tournaments.
