Week 14 Kings: WRs & TEs

Wide Receivers

Jordy Nelson ($8,100) – Jordy Nelson draws the best possible match-up for an NFL wide receiver in week 14 when the Packers host the Falcons. Atlanta has the league’s worst rated pass defense and has allowed the most passing yards in the NFL this season. The Packers are projected to score over 30 points on Monday night and its safe to assume Nelson will play a vital role in putting some of those points on the board.

Josh Gordon ($8,100) – Josh Gordon is in play nearly every week due to the very high rate at which he is targeted. In his first two games back from suspension, Gordon has been targeted 16 and 13 times. Check out all of the target leaders in the Rotogrinders NFL Targets. The Colts best cornerback Vontae Davis is questionable to play, if he cannot go, Gordon becomes an elite week 14 play.

Kenny Stills ($6,000) – Stills has emerged as the favorite WR target for Drew Brees since the injury to Bradin Cooks. In the last two games, Stills has 17.6 and 30.2 fantasy points, which has led to a modest price bump. However, at $6,000 Stills is still a great value, assuming a similar workload moving forward. The Panthers have a very weak secondary and I would not be surprised to see Brees and his new favorite target, Kenny Stills, connect on a deep TD.

Andre Johnson ($5,300) – It is somewhat perplexing that the sixth most targeted wide receiver in the NFL is priced at $5,300. The targets and receptions have been there for Andre Johnson; however he has only found the end zone on two occasions this season. The targets will continue to come Johnson’s way and at his current price tag a touchdown is not mandatory to achieve value.

GPP

Mike Wallace ($5,200) – The Baltimore secondary has been getting abused lately which puts Mike Wallace in play for not only GPPs but cash games as well. I have him listed here, as a GPP play due to the relatively low over/under of 45. Wallace has big play potential, which is ideal for GPP formats.

Tight Ends

Jimmy Graham ($6,500) – We have to be willing to overlook the goose egg that Graham put up last week. He is clearly a top two tight end in the NFL and now has a very friendly price tag of $6,500. Drew Brees has been on fire in the last two weeks and I’m willing to bet that he makes a concerted effort to get his number one target involved.

Antonio Gates ($4,700) – Gates has been very up and down this season, however he was very solid last week with seven catches on eight targets for 83 yards. The match-up this week versus the Patriots is projected to be high scoring (over/under 51). Additionally, the Patriots are ranked as the seventh worst team at defending the tight end position. Gates is a solid week 14 tight end option.

GPP

Julius Thomas ($5,200) – Monitor the injury news on Julius Thomas, if he does return this week, he would make for a great GPP play in week 14. The reason I have him listed as a GPP play is due to the fact that he is so touchdown dependent. However, Julius Thomas is one of the most dangerous players in the NFL in the red zone, making him a threat to score multiple times.
