In 2014, Mike “Hoop2410” Petta was able to quit his full-time job as an accountant in order to pursue Daily Fantasy as a full-time pro. He is a primary contributor to RotoGrinders, and you can hear more about his story in this interview on the RotoGrinders podcast. Each week, “Hoop” will bring you his exclusive picks for DraftKings to FantasyPros readers. Here are Hoops top WR & TE recommendations for Week 4.

Week 3 brought us a couple standout out wide receiver performances, Julio Jones and Jeremy Maclin both had monster games. High priced studs such as Calvin Johnson and Jordy Nelson both disappointed in a botched shootout. Week 4 WR plays will feature a stud in a phenomenal spot to produce and some underpriced slumping big names. As for week 3 tight ends, we saw what seemed to be bunch of mediocre performances and yet a another very solid effort from Martellus Bennett, who caught a pair of TDs Monday night. In the week 4 TE analysis, you will see difficulty in fading the league’s top producer at the position. Let’s go!!!

Wide Receiver

Dez Bryant ($7900) – Dez Bryant and the Cowboys will faceoff of with the Saints in what Vegas has pegged as a shootout (O/U 53, NO favored by 3). The Saints have given up the 9th most FPs to Wide Receivers this year, leaving a great opportunity for Dez to produce a potential monster line. New Orleans does not possess a lock down CB, therefore Romo should have no problem connecting with his #1 target.

Alshon Jeffrey ($6600) – The Cutler/Alshon connection was in full effect Monday night when the duo connected on 8 passes for 105 yards. Jeffrey currently has a depressed price tag due to poor performances in the first couple weeks. Alshon is a great play regardless of Brandon Marshall’s playing status, however if he sits Alshon becomes an elite play.

Jordy Nelson ($7200) – Jordy has a nice price this week after receiving a substantial drop due to a poor week 3 performance. I expect the Packers entire offense to bounce back with a huge game this week after their pathetic week 3 effort. This game also has an appealing Vegas line (O/U 49.5, GB favored by 1.5). Nelson is the most consistent producer on the Packers offense and I expect Rodgers to look his way very often in order to get things back on track.

Value

Keenan Allen ($5300) – A combination of tough match-ups and a minor injury has resulted in a disappointing start for Allen. Keenan provide last year that he is capable of producing like a top ten WR. He has the best possible match-up to turn thing around, Jacksonville is a terrible team and I expect San Diego will take advantage of the situation and get Keenan going.

GPP

Jeremy Maclin ($6300) – I think Maclin ends up being an underowned commodity due to the perceived tough match-up. However, the Niners defense is not the same after a couple key losses and Vegas has placed a rather high total on this game (50). As we saw last week, Maclin is very capable of putting up a huge stat line.

Tight End

Jimmy Graham ($7500) – Jimmy Graham is the best TE in the game and falls into a phenomenal match-up with the inept Dallas defense. The reasons to pay up for Graham are endless. This game features the highest O/U of the week at 53, and I expect the Brees/Graham connection to abuse the weak defense of the Cowboys.

Martellus Bennett ($5700) – If you cannot afford to pay up for Graham, I think playing Bennett makes the most sense. Bennett has been the most consistent TE through the first 3 weeks of the season and has racked up some very solid numbers (20 catches, 4 TDs). Cutler loves targeting Bennett in the red zone, and if for some reason Marshall cannot go this play makes even more sense.

Owen Daniels ($4100) – Baltimore is a team that loves using the tight end position as an integral part of their offense. Baltimore lost heavily targeted Dennis Pita to injury last week and Owen Daniels will have the opportunity to fill in for the remainder of the season. Baltimore claims they will be using some type of committee at the position, however I do not put much stock into that statement. Daniels is the best option they have and he will be very active in the Ravens passing game.

GPP

Zach Ertz ($4000) – Zack Ertz showed us in the first two weeks of the season that he is very capable of producing at the NFL level. The combination of a disappointing week 3 performance and perceived tough match-up with SF has lowered his price tag all the way down to $4000. He is a great gamble play at the TE position this week.
