Week 7 NFL Injury Breakdown

Injuries can play a crucial role in your season-long leagues, and some of the same waiver wire concepts apply in DFS as well. RotoGrinders will have a weekly injury report highlighting the key injuries across the league and possible value plays that can pop up because of them.

Quarterback

jake-locker-300x200

Jake Locker (Thumb) Questionable

Locker was able to practice on a limited basis Friday, but signs are pointing to Charlie Whitehurst getting the start for the Titans this week. With the early kickoff, we will know who is starting prior to roster lock.

Carson Palmer (Shoulder) Probable
Derek Carr (Ankle & Knee) Probable
Ryan Tannehill (Ankle) Probable
Tony Romo (Ribs & Ankle) Probable

Running Back

Toby Gerhart (Foot) Out

Gerhart has been ruled out for Week 7 and the Jaguars will look to use a running-back-by-committee approach, killing their upside for DFS purposes.

Shonn Greene (Hamstring) Out

Greene has been ruled out again this week, meaning Bishop Sankey fans will be able to deploy the rookie again. Sankey will share some of the work with Dexter McCluster and Leon Washington, but is the main workhorse.

montee-ball-300x200

Montee Ball (Groin) Out

Ball is out Week 7 with his groin injury, and word from Denver is that even when he is able to play his role might be changing. Ronnie Hillman will be the back who sees the most action for the Broncos in a tough matchup with the 49ers.

Rashad Jennings (Knee) Out

Jennings is out for Week 7 against the Cowboys. Andre Williams will start in his place again and could make for a solid play.

DeAngelo Williams (Ankle) Out

Williams is out again for the Panthers, but Jonathan Stewart is back to take over the starting duties. The Panthers’ running backs have been horrible for fantasy purposes, so Stewart would be a risky GPP type play.

Ryan Mathews (Knee) & Donald Brown (Concussion) Out

Both Mathews and Brown are out again this week, giving way to Branden Oliver, who has played extremely well in his role as the lead back.

Arian Foster (Groin) Probable
Andre Ellington (Foot) Probable
Ben Tate (Finger) Probable
Mark Ingram (Hand) Probable
Pierre Thomas (Illness) Probable
Lamar Miller (Knee) Probable
Reggie Bush (Ankle) Probable
Jonathan Stewart (Knee) Probable

Wide Receiver

A.J. Green (Toe) Out

Green will not play Week 7, setting up Mohamed Sanu as the main target for Andy Dalton. Sanu was targeted 15 times last week with Green out, in a game that was played to a tie.

Calvin Johnson (Ankle) Questionable

Do you believe in miracles? According to Jim Caldwell, that is what it would take for Megatron to play this week. Look for Golden Tate and Corey Fuller to see the majority of Stafford’s targets.

kelvin-benjamin-300x200

Kelvin Benjamin (Concussion) Questionable

Benjamin was able to practice Friday and his chances at playing look a lot better. He still needs to be cleared, but we will have clarity on this situation prior to roster lock, as the Panthers have an early kickoff.

Andre Johnson (Ankle) Probable
Cordarrelle Patterson (Hip) Probable
Michael Floyd (Groin) Probable

Tight End

John Carlson (Knee) Questionable

Carlson was able to practice on a limited basis, but is questionable with a knee injury. If he cannot play Week 7, then Rob Housler will start at TE for the Cardinals.

Vernon Davis (Back) Probable
Charles Clay (Knee) Probable
Greg Olsen (Ankle) Probable
