What’s up Daily Sports Fans? It’s an exciting time of year for the TPOY race. We’re right in the heart of baseball season, and there are a ton of major tournaments right down the road, with the Showcase tomorrow night, the survivor tournaments going strong, and many of the championship events are right around the corner. I expect to see some major swings coming very soon.

Don’t look now boys and girls, but we have a new Tournament Player of the Year leader! After dominating the leaderboard for the first half of the year, McJester fell to second place at the hands of stlcardinals84. It’s not much of a lead, but Cards has been slowly catching up since the start of the MLB season, and both of them have a pretty sizable lead on the rest of the field. It should be really interesting to see what happens when some of these huge prizes are handed out toward the end of the summer, but right now it looks like a two horse race.

Notes

Birdwings continues to grow his lead on the MLB leaderboard. Interstingly, stlcardinals84 sits all the way down in 6th place in the MLB overall standings, despite his TPOY dominance. Clearly they’re two different animals, but it’s always interesting to me to compare the different game types and how success in one format translates to the other.
