Whits23 Cracks the Top 10: Weekly Rankings Update Jan 6th, 2012

Happy New Year GrinderNation and welcome to the 2012 season of daily fantasy sports. While the calendar may be turning over, the fantasy circuit is just heating up. With the NBA in full swing, the NHL rolling along, the NFL playoffs starting, NCAA Bowl Season finishing and the PGA tournaments beginning, GrinderNation has a rare opportunity. These next two to three weeks are going to be critical for making moves up and down the rankings. As you know, the rankings are based partially on success across multiple sports. So for those of you looking to rise up and those of you who are already rising, use these next couple of weeks with five sports to bet on to make that move. This week we already saw a couple of guys make big moves and I have to believe that’s a factor of all the action available. So let’s take a look at the first 2012 rankings and hand out some special New Year’s recognition.

First off it’s a welcoming party to our new top 100 Grinders to accompany or welcome into 2012. The first welcome is to RedZone187 who’s accomplishments in the month of December have finally pushed him into the top 100, coming in at #97 this week. Great job to RedZone187 and don’t let up now, keep moving up. The second welcome comes as a bit of a shock to this new rankings writer. I have seen some impressive weeks in just a month of putting up these articles, but I’ve never seen a member of GrinderNation welcome himself to the top 100 by jumping all the way to just outside the top 50. Plugman is clearly taking advantage of this bountiful wealth of fantasy action and he finds himself as both a newcomer and in #51 overall. Impressive job, Plugman and keep it up. Who knows, we could be looking at an up and comer working to find themselves in the top 10.

Next we have to appreciate those in GrinderNation who are utilizing this fantasy opportunity to improve their rank within the top 100 players. In the top 10, Primetime420 was able to move up a spot again, and in the past two weeks has jumped from 9th to 7th. Also, we have a newcomer to the top 10 as Whits23 moved up from #11 to take the #9 position. Good job to those two top ten stars and good luck going forward guys! Next we can look at Maxdalury at 14th overall. Maxdalury used an impressive NFL season, in which he stands in 9th for the seasonal GLB, to push himself up 7 spots again from 21st last week. Final congratulations go to our four players this week who made double digit jumps. Shypoker moved up 11 spots, Hatorade again jumped 13 spots, Luckbox8 moved ahead by 15 positions and J21willy jumped an incredible 21 places. Impeccable work by these guys and GrinderNation wishes them luck moving forward.

Thanks for all of your hard work in making these rankings interesting on a weekly basis. Anyone in the top 100 here is clearly a fantasy stud and for those of you just outside the top 100 or new to the game, these players are a model to follow. It goes without saying that guys like Condia, Rudzia55, HixvilleHunk, Beermakersfan, and KaiserRoll13(who are the top 5 in the GLB) continue to dominate but it is the players making moves upward on a week to week basis who have the best chance to catch these all-stars.
