Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The Chargers went to town as expected last week on this group of less than spectacular defensive backs. We have Steven Nelson listed as the primary matchup for Brown while Kendall Fuller is matched up against Smith-Schuster. It’s not tremendously important who lines up on who, because I am of the belief that even Fuller isn’t enough to slow down either WR. Fuller was actually the third worst DB in terms of expected points allowed per SIS in Week 1 and was likewise charged with 100.69 passer rating allowed. Both Fuller and Nelson were charged with negative points saved, and I would consider both WRs on the docket here better than every receiver on the Chargers #hottake. Yes – I think JuJu is going to be great. Even so, it’s an ice cold take that Brown is the best receiver in the NFL. And he must just end up getting covered by Orlando Scandrick, who leads the league in TDs allowed (2) with 8 catches and 123 yards to go along with it. With this in mind, I suspect the betting market total is on point in this game. I will have exposure to both players strategically with hopes of capitalizing on the strong passing game matchup.
