Robert Woods vs. Packers
The Rams mix and match their WRs in the slot, but we did see Robert Woods there the most last week as expected. We have him projected for almost 29% of targets, and many of those targets would come against Josh Jackson and the Packers slot coverage. The Packers have given up 8 TDs to targets lined up slot and that includes a noteworthy pair of dominant performances from Diggs and Thielen. They posted over 100 yards and two TDs each lined up in slot position. Woods could be in line for similar dominance as the most similar slot player they have faced since then. Jackson is being tagged with 12.88 yards per target and a 109.72 passer rating allowed by Sports Info Solutions Inc., and we should be wanting to get access to this game and this offense with a key player like Woods.
A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd vs. Tampa Bay
A.J. Green is a market share hog, with 37% of air yards and 28% of targets to his name so far this season. Green isn’t just an outside WR. He runs a healthy number of routes from a slot alignment, including 32 targets for 375 yards and 4 TDs. Tampa Bay has allowed the most yards (1214) and TD (9) to players lined up slot per Sports Info Solutions. They have also allowed the highest YPA (10.38) and QB rating against (135.54). Green is an amazing position to crush, and it is worth noting that Tyler Boyd lines up almost exclusively in the slot, with just 48 routes run as a flanker. He is also well positioned to continue his outstanding season.
