Tre’Quan Smith and Michael Thomas vs. Rams
The expectation is that this game will produce a lot of offense, and the price points for the entire game seem way too cheap. Tre’Quan Smith will find himself aligned against Marcus Peters on a fairly regular basis running routes deep downfield. According to Sports Info Solutions, Smith has seen 21.43% if his targets 20+ yards downfield and has an ADOT of 12.86. The Rams have have allowed the 3rd most explosive passing plays in the league in 2018, and Peters is allowing a 126.4 passer rating in coverage. Regardless of who covers Smith, we should be looking to get involved with him purely on his potential to create big plays in this matchup. Michael Thomas has fallen off from his early season productivity, but the potential for a slate changing performance remains. He won’t be as much of a threat (just 4.69% if targets 20 yards downfield) for a big play, but could just as easily get it done with elite target volume and TD equity.
