WSOP Main Event: DFBC Finalist Jamie Robbins in 7th with 25 Remaining
There is a DFBC Finalist in the final 25 players at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker! Jamie Robbins, who goes by the name MLBSyndicate, currently stands in 7th place with 25 players remaining in the $10,000 buy in tournament. As I write this, his chip count is at 8.75 million and he is in the final 27 players out of the original 6,598! It is incredibly impressive for him to have lasted this long in the Main Event, but when you add in the fact that he also qualified for the DFBC on July 28th, it’s nothing short of ridiculous.
Jamie, a California native who resides near Lake Tahoe, clearly has a knack for these skill-based games and gives all daily fantasy players someone to cheer on in the Main Event. So I ask Grinder Nation to stand behind Jamie in his push towards a WSOP victory, as this would be a huge boost to the daily fantasy world! Anyone who is a fan of the DFS Industry as a whole understands that a win for Jamie in Vegas would mean huge things for boosting the popularity of our game!
The 2012 WSOP Breakdown
For those of you who play poker and understand the gist of it, Robbins is in the final 27 players as Day 7 commences tonight at 5 PM Eastern. The $10K buy-in tournament will pay out at least $200,000 to every remaining player depending on position. Here are some more facts:
- Jamie Robbins Chip Count: 8,750,000
- Leading Chip Count: 15,875,000
- Current Blinds: 60,000 Small / 120,000 Big
- Current Ante Per Hand: 15,000
In 2011, Jamie Robbins was able to come in 11th in the WSOP and reel in over $800K for that finish in the Main Event. That year, he was busted by well-known poker professional Phil Ivey. This year, he has another shot to take the top prize of 8.5 MILLION DOLLARS or at least make it to the final table. This is truly an impressive feat and as Cal recently mentioned in the forums, he has quickly become our new favorite poker player.
