XFL DFS Expert Survey: Week 2
What is the standout metric, tendency, or data-backed fact you are leaning on to make a key exposure decision this week?
ChrisGimino: Field position was a major factor in week 1, and I am interested if we see similar trends play out in the XFL for the season due to the new rules. Teams that score on defense and on short fields will have lower yardage, lower total play count, and higher percentage of their fantasy scoring associated with touchdowns. This was true of winning teams week 1 for the most part. In GPPs, I will consider this when selecting players for some of my stacks. I will want to stack TD equity, and run it back with pass catching volume.
ebeimfohr: In Week 1, XFL offenses were relatively underwhelming in terms of overall offensive production. Due to this, in tournaments, I really want to focus on building lineups around game scripts that have at least one of the teams having success scoring, similar to Houston last week. Essentially a heavier focus on game stacking. I suspect we are going to see far fewer ceiling outcomes for offensive players in the XFL, so we need to capitalize on the instances when one offense scores above expectation, which in turn forces their opponent to likely learn heavier towards the pass while trying to play catch up. Or if both teams are able to have offensive success, we can see a full blown shootout & capitalize on the leverage we can against the field with minimal game stacking being done in XFL GPPs.
