Pitchers
Noah Syndergaard vs Philadelphia Phillies: $43
Jose Berrios vs Kansas City Royals: $39
Pitching is pretty ugly tonight, but both of these guys stick off the page to me for strikeouts and matchup. They both have maybe the highest floor and highest ceiling of the night and I don’t see much risk either. With both guys lurking around $40 on top of it, you still have a lot of roster ability around the rest of the team which is nice when you have clearly the top two on the slate. I really don’t see anything else on the board, so I may just go full lock button with both guys.
Catcher
Nick Hundley at Milwaukee Brewers: $7
Austin Barnes at Colorado Rockies: $14
A staple in my articles since Posey went out it is Hundley yet again today that is my favorite play on the board. He is getting a splits edge in his favor and has all the pop in his bat needed from a min price guy that you could want. Catcher is always a great spot for savings obviously with how much you can get at other spots and Hundley just makes all the sense in the world. If I for some reason decide to go up it would for sure be for Coors and a guy like Barnes with the splits edge as well. It just doesn’t make sense to pay double for a guy hitting in front of a pitcher though. Hundley it is for me.
