Thursday, November 16th

Tonight, we have a tiny two game slate and even though I’m not a fan of such small slates, I’m sure you will be playing it anyways. Let’s have a look at my favorite play for each position on the slate.

Point Guard

PG: Kyrie Irving, Boston Celtics, $43
At first glance, there may be justifiable concerns with wanting to play Kyrie based on recent performance, the fact that he has to wear a face mask he hates, and because the Warriors rank 3rd in DVP vs. the point guard position. I’m not too concerned about any of them because this is a nice pace-up spot for the Celtics (Warriors rank 5th in pace), Kyrie leads the team with a 29.7% usage rate, and while the Warriors rank 3rd in DVP it’s not from facing guards with the talent and scoring capabilities of Irving. The only two guards they’ve faced that are even in the conversation with Kyrie are John Wall and Kyle Lowry, both of whom had good games against the Warriors. Golden St. allows plenty of extra assists and offensive rebounds to the point guard position and I’m confident Irving will be leading the squad in scoring in a competitive game.
