If Westbrook takes the court play him, and if he sits, play Felton. Other than that, CP3 looks poised to dominate on offense tonight as he is a great Pick and Roll ballhandler threat along with dominating in isolation this year, while Teague is among the league worst in defense in both categories this season. Fox gives us a nice mid-tier value play as he clearly has the most stable role on the Kings post-trade deadline with 33 and 34 minutes in back to back games along with at least 28 fantasy points in six of his last seven games. A matchup against one of the leagues worst defenders in Dennis Smith Jr. doesn’t hurt either. Harris becomes a solid value play if Murray sits out tonight as he did not go through shootaround this morning with a chest injury.
Harden makes a fine play if you want to pay up tonight at the position in what should be a close and high scoring game on the road in Minnesota. I think I prefer to spend down, with Bogdan being a great play with 30-33 minutes in each of his past three games and the ability to double his salary with his across the board performances. Hill brings a little of the unknown to your team as a GPP play as the starting point guard and should play 25-28 minutes. One would think you will see more effort from him on the favorites out of the east to get to the Finals than wasting away in Sacramento.
The position is garbage today as LeBron looks a little overpriced as his usage is likely to take a small hit while he develops chemistry with his new team and Paul George looks to be overpriced if Westbrook suits up later. Barton is interesting is Murray sits out as he usually picks up some extra minutes and usage when that happens. Anderson should log big minutes with a shorthanded Spurs team on a back to back and likely see an uptick in usage if the Spurs sit a few players. Cedi drew the start for the new-look Cavaliers last game and played 29 minutes in a blowout of the Celtics. At minimum price and 30 minutes looking likely in a close game, Cedi could become popular if a few of the other value plays we are expecting from injury don’t come to fruition tonight.
Giannis could outscore everyone else at this position by 20+ fantasy points tonight, and while I think he is a little overpriced, certainly is viable as a GPP play due to the possibility of him dominating the position. Bertans should draw the start tonight with Aldridge still out and might also be without Gasol as well and with a long history of coming through for us when he starts, might end up being the most popular play on the slate at minimum price. The rest of the position is so bad for value right now that I would really recommend using one of these two players in nearly any format.
Towns has a double-double in every game in the new year but two, and with a home matchup in a fast-paced game has the chance to hit 50 fantasy points with the ability to post massive double-doubles and contribute across the board. Yahoo is the one site that hasn’t increased Jonas’s price fast enough with his great play and should prove troublesome to guard tonight from the outside as Whiteside tends to have trouble with bigs that can shoot from the three-point line. We don’t know what the Spurs will do tonight on a back to back as of me writing this, but there is a good chance Pau Gasol sits out tonight which will allow King Joffrey to play big minutes at minimum price should that happen.
