The Raiders and the Dolphins both posted 6-10 records last season and the sentiment for both teams was that they were better than their records reflected. The Raiders were coming off of a 12-4 season the year before and the Dolphins played last season with Jay Cutler as quarterback.

Now Jon Gruden is back at the helm for the first time since 2001 for the Raiders and Ryan Tannehill is back under center in Miami. The teams are in completely different spots with Miami looking down at the entire AFC East and Oakland looking up at the AFC West.

Despite their contrary records, I like the Oakland Raiders in this matchup and I think the game will be determined in two main areas.
