Eagles vs Giants TNF Prop Bets
Written by: Patrick Rowley
Eli Manning throws an interception, -165
Starting with the Giants week 2 matchup against the Cowboys, Eli Manning managed to string together 14 consecutive quarters without an interception before being picked off twice by Mike Adams in the second half of last week’s game. Over the past four seasons Eli Manning has averaged just over 14 interceptions per season which brings him close to one pick per game.
The weather will be a major factor in this game, as we could see over two inches of rain tonight with thunderstorms mixed in. The field and the ball will be wet and we will likely see more errant throws that could end up in the hands of an Eagles defender. The Eagles are also second in the league in QB pressures this season, averaging 16 pressures per game through the first five contests. League-wide interception percentage more than doubles when the quarterback is under pressure, and Eli’s split are even more extreme, (0.8 INT% with clean pocket, 3.8 INT% under pressure).
The combination of the Eagles pressure, the weather, and Eli being Eli make me feel comfortable with this bet.
NFL-IQ projected interceptions for Eli Manning: 0.9
Saquon Barkley o61.5 rush yards, +110
The Eagles have been impressive at stopping the run this season, allowing 66.4 rushing yards per game which is the second best rate in the league (just 0.4 yards per game behind Chicago). However, a fair amount of this success has to be attributed to the opponents that they’ve played. The running backs with the most carries against the Eagles each week were Tevin Coleman, Peyton Barber, Derrick Henry, and Christian McCaffrey who combine to average just 49.4 yards per game on the ground (helped considerably by McCaffrey’s 82.3 yards per game).
The 61.5 rush yards are right in line with Barkley’s season average (61.4) and given the Eagles defensive success against the run I would generally like the under. However, considering the weather I expect the volume of run plays to increase and in turn lead to Saquon surpassing this line.
NFL-IQ projected rush yards for Saquon Barkley: 65.3
