Quarterbacks are the only fantasy position where efficiency matters more than volume. Efficiency metrics (touchdown percentage, passer rating) have a much stronger correlation to fantasy points per game than passing attempts. With that said, it is a mistake to believe that a quarterback will gain value simply because his team will be in negative game script. League-wide, pass attempts are the most efficient when playing with a lead, and least efficient when playing from behind (Table 3).
