Anthony Tolliver Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Anthony Tolliver will start for Zach Collins (shoulder) on Monday

In a slightly surprising move, the Trail Blazers have announced that Tolliver will start in place of the injured Zach Collins for Monday's matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, which means that Mario Hezonja will remain in a bench role for at the least the beginning of the game. The news of Tolliver starting shouldn't be a deterrent for anyone looking to roster Hezonja on tonight's slates, as he still logged 25 minutes of action off the bench in Sunday's win, even with Collins playing nearly three full quarters before exiting with a shoulder injury.

Value in the Detroit Frontcourt

I wouldn't expect Andre Drummond or Blake Griffin to suit up for a meaningless regular season finale, so that should mean another heavy dose of Anthony Tolliver and company in a favorable matchup against the tanking Bulls. Tolliver played a whopping 42 minutes the other night, and while he's no great shakes as a player, he can find his way into value if he's going to play 40 minutes. With the thinned out rotation, I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up a career game against the weak Bulls front line.

Ride the Pistons Value Wave, Part 2

This is part 2 of 2. Detroit value plays are going to be a big key to success tonight. They are facing off against a Cavs team that has been awful defensively all year long, so that's a good start. In addition, they will be without Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley, who got traded away yesterday. They will also be without Blake Griffin, who won't be active yet. Expect a very short rotation tonight, and I expect the Pistons to play with renewed energy here. Tolliver is dirt cheap and could be staring at 40 minutes tonight, which will be enough for him to walk into value. He has the potential to go for seven or eight times his salary tag here. He also played 40 minutes in the last game, and that was while Harris was still around. Fire him up with confidence.

Avery Bradley (groin) ruled out Sunday; Anthony Tolliver will start

Bradley is a late scratch and has been ruled out of tonight's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to a sore groin, despite never being listed on the Detroit Pistons' injury report at any point throughout the day. Bradley tried to go through pregame warmups but was still experiencing some soreness after logging 26 minutes in the first leg of this back-to-back set on Saturday night. In his absence, Anthony Tolliver will draw the start at power forward, a move that slides Tobias Harris up to small forward. Additionally, head coach Stan Van Gundy has also opted to shake up the lineup once again by reinserting Reggie Bullock and Ish Smith at the shooting guard and point guard positions, respectively, sending Stanley Johnson and Langston Galloway back to the bench to resume reserve roles. With Bradley and Reggie Jackson off the court this season, Harris, Bullock, and Johnson all own at least a +3.0% usage rate differential, and Harris leads the way with a 27.9% usage rate overall while averaging 1.10 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.06 on FanDuel in this scenario.

Stanley Johnson (hip flexor) ruled out Saturday

Johnson has been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs due to a strained left hip flexor, despite never appearing on the Detroit Pistons' injury report at any point throughout the day. Additionally, head coach Stan Van Gundy has also opted to start Anthony Tolliver over Luke Kennard in order to better matchup with Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge on the defensive end, a lineup change that will slide Tobias Harris and Reggie Bullock over to small forward and the shooting guard spot, respectively. The Pistons are relatively thin on the wing with Avery Bradley still sidelined, and Van Gundy did say that Dwight Buycks could see some additional playing time as the backup point guard behind Ish Smith with Lanston Galloway now needed to absorb some more minutes on the wing. Smith logged a season-high 32 minutes in his first start in place of the injured Reggie Jackson, so he'll remain in play as a value option despite the suboptimal matchup with San Antonio, and he Tobias Harris, and Andre Drummond all own at least a +2.4% usage rate differential with Johnson, Jackson, and Bradley off the court this season, while Drummond has averaged a lofty 1.58 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.63 on FanDuel in this scenario.

Garrett Temple (rest), Kosta Koufos (rest), Anthony Tolliver (personal), Ty Lawson (rest), and Darren Collison (migraine) all ruled out for Kings

Normal stuff from the Kings at this point as they routinely rule out several players on gameday. Buddy Hield is the most reliable player remaining on the team as he picks up 30 minutes every single night. Willey Cauley-Stein has seen his minutes drop over the past few games, he only played 21 on Tuesday. Rookie Skal Labissiere had earned 30+ minutes for three consecutive nights prior to their matchup with the Suns, but he dropped to 26 in that one. Sacramento facing the Clippers, who will be playing motivated basketball as they're trying to lock up the fourth seed.

Arron Afflalo (rest), Darren Collison (rest), Kosta Koufos (rest) and Tyreke Evans (rest) all ruled out for Kings; Anthony Tolliver probably

Sacramento is continuing their routine of resting a handful of players each night. Sunday it will be Afflalo, Collison, Koufos, and Evans. Tolliver is expected to play. Buddy Hield, Willie Cauley-Stein, and Skal Labissiere will lead the way for the Kings. Those three guys have been getting the most minutes recently and they're all in play tonight against Houston, who ranke in the bottom five in DvP against each of their positions. Labissiere is the cheapest option, while Cauley-Stein has the biggest upside, and Hield gets the highest usage of the three.

Kosta Koufos (rest), Ty Lawson (rest), and Garrett Temple (rest) all ruled OUT tonight

Anthony Tolliver (hip) and Arron Afflalo (back) are probable. With Koufos, Lawson, and Temple off the court, Tyreke Evans and Buddy Hield lead the way in usage with 25.7% and 24.4%, respectively. Hield puts up better per-minute fantasy production at 0.88 FD ppm, which is 0.12 ppm better than his average. Hield has routinely been in the mid-30s since he became the starter in Sacramento, a trend that should continue tonight. Willey Cauley-Stein sees a monster 0.16 FD ppm increase in this situation, giving him an average pace of 1.03 FD ppm. He should also get plenty of minutes and he's been more consistent lately. Fortunately for both players, they get to visit the Lakers tonight, who are in the bottom-third in DvP rankings across the board.

Arron Afflalo, Kosta Koufos, and Anthony Tolliver all OUT for Kings tonight

Afflalo returned to action from a four-game absence Sacramento's last game but a back injury has resurfaced and he will sit out today's game. Koufos and Tolliver are also out for the Kings. Ben McLemore, Buddy Hield, and Skal Labissiere are the biggest beneficiaries of this news.

Anthony Tolliver, Kosta Koufas, and Arron Afflalo all OUT for Kings tonight

Koufos and Afflalo will sit out their second straight game while the veteran Tolliver will get another day off for rest purposes. Skal Labissiere benefits the most form his absence and is a viable value option in DFS tonight.
