Brandan Wright Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Eric Gordon (illness) and Brandan Wright (knee) listed out Monday; Clint Capela (illness) and Ryan Anderson (hip) listed questionable

Gordon has been listed out in the latest version of the Houston Rockets' game notes for Monday's game against the Utah Jazz due to an illness that has already forced him to miss two consecutive games, Brandan Wright is also listed out with right knee soreness after logging 15 minutes and making his official Rockets debut in Sunday's win. Additionally, Clint Capela and Ryan Anderson have both been listed as questionable in the game notes with an illness and a sore right hip flexor, respectively. While there's yet to be an official update from the team or head coach Mike D'Antoni on the aforementioned players, it seems best to approach Monday's slate as if Gordon will be unavailable for the third time in as many games. Gerald Green was a DNP-CD last night, compared to the 28 minutes that were allocated to recently-signed Joe Johnson in the wing rotation, even with Trevor Ariza 32 minutes in his second game back from a lengthy absence due to a hamstring injury. That said, neither player figures to be a factor in daily fantasy formats, even with Gordon sidelined, since D'Antoni now suddenly has the ability to deploy deeper nine or 10-man rotations, limiting the minute and usage upside of tertiary rotational pieces like Johnson and Green moving forward.

Nene (rest) ruled out Wednesday; Brandan Wright not expected to play

Nene is a new addition to the Houston Rockets' injury report and has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Sacramento Kings due to rest purposes on the second leg of a back-to-back set. Meanwhile, newly-signed Brandan Wright may be active for the first time as a member of the Rockets, according to head coach Mike D'Antoni, but he remains unlikely to play, which means that Tarik Black will be relied upon to handle the backup center duties with Nene sidelined. Eric Gordon remains questionable with a right knee contusion, and Gerald Green played 26 minutes in the most recent game Gordon was sidelined with a back injury. However, Joe Johnson is available to make his Rockets debut and will likely cut into some of Green's playing time on the wing regardless of Gordon's status for tonight's contest.

Memphis Grizzlies Injury Report for Saturday

The Memphis Grizzlies have released their latest injury report for tonight's game against the New Orleans Pelicans and have listed Andrew Harrison, Mario Chalmers, and Ben McLemore as questionable due to their respective ailments, while Chandler Parsons, James Ennis, and Brandan Wright remain sidelined and will join Mike Conley among the Grizzlies inactives for Saturday's contest. With Wright unavailable, Deyonta Davis will be locked in as the team's primary backup behind Gasol at center, though he had seemingly surpassed Wright in the rotation anyway, and Jarell Martin will absorb any remaining minutes Wright would have played. There could also potentially be a plethora of playing time available on the wing for Dillon Brooks and Wayne Selden, especially if one, or any combination, of McLemore, Harrison, or Chalmers are unable to suit up this evening.

Marc Gasol (illness) expected to play Friday; Brandan Wright (illness) likely doubtful

Gasol participated in shootaround this morning and is expected to play in tonight's game against the Sacramento Kings after previously being listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with an illness that has forced him to miss one game. Meanwhile, Brandan Wright was not present at shootaround and appears likely doubtful to suit up for Friday's contest, despite his current questionable designation on the injury report. The Grizzlies are already without Mike Conley, Chandler Parsons, and James Ennis, and with Wright looking unlikely to play, Deyonta Davis will be locked in as the team's primary backup behind Gasol at center, though he had seemingly surpassed Wright in the rotation anyway. Memphis has yet to provide an update on Andrew Harrison, who remains questionable with a left shoulder injury, and if he were to be ruled out, there would be a plethora of playing time available on the wing for Dillon Brooks and Wayne Selden, while Ben McLemore would likely absorb some of the unclaimed minutes as well.

Marc Gasol (illness) and Brandan Wright (illness) ruled out Wednesday

Gasol has officially been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the New York Knicks after previously being listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with an illness, while Brandan Wright is a new addition to the injury report and has also been ruled out due to an illness. Meanwhile, James Ennis is still listed as questionable with a right calf injury and Chandler Parsons is still sidelined with a sore right knee. With Gasol and Wright officially unavailable, Deyonta Davis will almost certainly draw the start at center in Gasol's place and should be locked into a heavy minute workload regardless of starting lineup. As for Ennis' potential absence, it would allow Wayne Selden and Ben McLemore some additional minutes with the second unit on the wing. With the aforementioned players and Mike Conley off the court this season, Tyreke Evans owns a massive +9.3% usage rate differential in just 91.5 minutes and has averaged 1.47 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.38 on FanDuel in this scenario, making him an elite option for all formats now that Gasol has been deemed unable to suit up this evening.

Marc Gasol (foot) questionable Saturday; Chandler Parsons (knee, ankle) and Brandan Wright (groin) ruled out

Gasol has been added to the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report and is listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a left foot injury, while Brandan Wright and Chandler Parsons have been ruled out, the latter also being ruled out for Monday's contest with a sore right ankle and knee. Even with Mario Chalmers available on Friday night, Tyreke Evans and Ben McLemore remained in interim head coach J.B. Bickerstaff's starting lineup and are expected to continue starting for the foreseeable future, though Evans minutes have not been affected in any way as he has seen the same amount of playing time in his previous starts as he normally does off the bench. Should Gasol be ruled out, Evans figures to be an elite option on Saturday's main slate, as both he and James Ennis own at least a +7.7% usage rate differential with Gasol, Parsons, and Mike Conley off the court this season, while Evans also leads the Grizzlies with a 35.6% usage rate.

Mario Chalmers (ankle), Chandler Parsons (knee), and Brandan Wright (groin) will play Friday

Chalmers, Parsons, and Wright have all been cleared to play and will suit up for tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs after previously being listed as questionable on Memphis Grizzlies' injury report with their respective injuries that had forced them to miss Wednesday's contest, while Wright will be available to make his return following a five-game absence. With Chalmers available, Tyreke Evans will head back to the bench to resume his normal sixth-man role, though his minutes should not be expected to be affected in any way as he saw the same amount of playing time in his spot start as he normally does off the bench. With Mike Conley still sidelined with a sore left Achilles, Evans will continue to benefit from a usage standpoint, as he owns a +2.3% usage rate differential with Conley off the court this season and continues to lead the Grizzlies with a rate of 1.15 fantasy points per minute in the aforementioned scenario.

Mario Chalmers (ankle), Chandler Parsons (knee), and Brandan Wright (groin) questionable for Friday

Chalmers and Parsons have both officially been listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies' injury report for tomorrow's game against the San Antonio Spurs due to their respective right ankle and right knee injuries, while Brandan Wright has been upgraded to questionable with a right groin issue that has forced him to miss five consecutive games. Chalmers' absence from the lineup was originally expected to be short-lived, as interim head coach J.B. Bickerstaff had previously confirmed that Chalmers would play on Friday night, but the organization appears to be taking a more cautious approach with him and the aforementioned players from an injury reporting standpoint at the very least. If Chalmers is unable to suit up, Tyreke Evans would draw the start at point guard for the second time in as many games but didn't end up seeing any additional playing time over his typical bench role. Obviously, we're dealing with a relatively small sample with all of the aforementioned players off the court, but Evans, Ben McLemore, James Ennis, and JaMychal Green stand to benefit the most from Chalmers potential absence, as each own at least a +3.3% usage rate differential with him, Parsons, Wright, Mike Conley, and Wayne Selden off the floor this season.

Tyreke Evans (shoulder) questionable for Monday; Brandan Wright (groin) and Wayne Selden (quad) ruled out

Evans has officially been listed as questionable on the Memphis Grizzlies injury report for tomorrow's game against the Portland Trail Blazers with a right shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Brandan Wright and Wayne Selden have been ruled out with a right groin injury and a right quad injury, respectively. The Grizzlies are still without Mike Conley for the next couple of weeks, so if Evans is unable to suit up Monday night, they could have a huge void to fill in their first and second units as Evans has taken on an even larger role in recent games with Conley sidelined. Unsurprisingly, there isn't much of a sample size with both Evans and Conley off the court this season but in that limited time, Dillon Brooks has been the clear beneficiary from a usage standpoint, owning +9.6% differential, while Marc Gasol has seen the largest bump to his daily fantasy production, averaging roughly 1.50 fantasy points per minute in the aforementioned scenario.

Marc Gasol (foot), Tony Allen (eye), and JaMychal Green (shoulder) all questionable for Tuesday; Andrew Harrison (ankle) probable

Gasol has missed the past five games with a foot strain, Green missed the previous three with shoulder soreness, and Harrison sat out the last two with an ankle issue. Allen's injury is new, making this a downgrade; keep in mind the vet is a rest candidate at this stage of the season now that the Grizzlies have clinched a playoff spot. Mike Conley has been doing very well without Gasol and Green the past few games, he's averaged 48.4 FanDuel points. Brandan Wright has picked up some extra minutes, but he's shown his lack of upside. Zach Randolph, on the other hand, has show a nice ceiling for his price; he scored 22 real points and picked up 12 boards against Dallas. However, they all have a much tougher spot against the Spurs tomorrow, which has a very low total of 193.0 points. The Grizzlies are getting 8.5 points, giving them a 92.25 implied total, which is well below their season average of 100.9 (third-lowest average in the league). If the questionable guys miss, Conely and Randolph would be in play again, but they'll have their work cut out for them - they're probably best used as high-risk contrarian tournament options, although on such a large slate there are better routes to take. Even if Gasol makes it back, he could be limited in an effort to preserve him for the playoffs. It's definitely a situation worth tracking tomorrow. Memphis' matchup with San Antonio is included in the Monday-Tuesday slate on FanDuel, which has late swap.
