Theo Riddick, Joique Bell, and Darius Slay INACTIVE for Lions; no surprises for Cowboys

The Lions only have two running backs active tonight, Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner. Washington should lead the duo in touches, as he's done the past two weeks. He's struggled to get much going, averaging 3.2 yards per carry in that stretch. Dallas ranks 6th in rush DVOA, so he isn't expected to put up big fantasy numbers tonight either. The Cowboys are playing all of their healthy starters on both sides of the ball even though they've locked up home field advantage. Ezekiel Elliot will look to extend his two-game streak of rushing for over 100 yards, but Detroit's defense hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher since Week 4. The Lions have been solid against rushing attacks all season; they've only allowed running backs to score four touchdowns on the ground through 14 games. That said, Elliot is the best running back they'll face this year and he's proven himself to be pretty matchup proof.

Lions sign Joique Bell

Dwayne Washington left last game early with an ankle injury; this roster move indicates he's doubtful for Week 14. While Bell isn't on the fantasy radar, Washington's absence would increase the workload for Theo Riddick and Zach Zenner. Washington has averaged 9.8 touches over the last four games.

Ka'Deem Carey doesn't practice Wednesday

Carey's absence isn't a good sign considering he sat out last week's game and doesn't appear all that likely to suit up Sunday. Assuming Carey sits, Jordan Howard will have the backfield to himself more or less, with practice squad call-up Raheem Mostert and recent free-agent acquistion Joique Bell as the other healthy backs on the roster. Mostert has shown some flashes in previous preseasons, but he's moved around from practice squad to practice squad over the last two years and shouldn't be much of a threat to Howard's workload. With Bell just being signed this week, it's unlikely he plays a notable role.

Joique Bell joining ailing Bears backfield

Both Jeremy Langford and backup Ka'Deem Carey are injured, leaving the Bears very shallow at running back. Jordan Howard should be the starter this weekend with plenty of volume running and receiving. Expect him to get most of the snaps, although Bell will likely get a few. In 2015 Bell averaged 6.9 carries and 1.7 receptions per game for the Lions as a backup to Ameer Abdullah. Howard presents nice value this weekend on DraftKings, and Bell is not available on DraftKings or FanDuel this weekend.
