Jordan Reed Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Jordan Reed active Sunday, no surprise inactives for 49ers

Jordan Reed is officially active Sunday, and there are no surprise inactives for 49ers. That means Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson and Jerick McKinnon are all active for Week 12.

Tevin Coleman (knee) ruled out for Sunday; Raheem Mostert (ankle) and Jordan Reed (illness) questionable

Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed to reporters that Coleman will remain sidelined for at least one additional week, and he's officially been ruled out of Sunday's Week 12 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams due to a knee injury that's now forced him to miss three consecutive games. Meanwhile, Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. are slated to be activated from injured reserve on Saturday and will be listed as questionable on the 49ers' injury report with no clear indication of their potential statuses. This is obviously a very fluid situation, but if Mostert is cleared to play, he'll have a legitimate chance at assuming his former bell-cow role in this Niners offense as he managed to accumulate 19 of the possible 31 backfield touches the last time he was active alongside Coleman and Jerick McKinnon, though the former would likely be replaced by Wilson in this hypothetical situation.

Jordan Reed (knee) activated from injured reserve, will play Thursday night

As expected, the 49ers will activate Reed from injured reserve prior to the deadline, and he will play in Thursday night's Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers after missing five games with a knee injury. It's highly unlikely Reed will see a full complement of snaps, but the last time he was supposed to be limited when George Kittle was sidelined, he accumulated eight targets and found the end zone twice in the Niners' Week 2 win. Even before Bourne and Aiyuk were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list yesterday afternoon, the Niners were slated to head into Week 9 decimated at multiple offensive skill positions with Deebo Samuel, Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, and Jeff Wilson Jr. all still sidelined with their respective ailments as well. If Richie James, who remains questionable, is unable to play following his most recent one-game absence, San Fransisco would be down to a receiver group consisting of Trent Taylor, River Cracraft, and Kevin White, the latter two still needing to be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.

Redskins are Placing TE Jordan Reed on Injured Reserve

Reed had a great training camp, but the often-injured tight end will have yet another season cut short. It is fair to wonder if the talented pass catcher will ever play another NFL down in his career. Jeremy Sprinkle will get the start this week against Miami, but veteran Vernon Davis should take the first-string role back when he returns from his injury.

Vernon Davis (Concussion), Jordan Reed (Concussion) Both Out Sunday

As expected, both Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed have been ruled out for Sunday. Jeremy Sprinkle will be the top TE for the Redskins Sunday.

Vernon Davis (Concussion), Jordan Reed (Concussion) Out Week 5

The Redskins are down 2 TE's, with both Davis and Reed out with concussions. Jeremy Sprinkle will take over the starting job for now, but his ceiling is much lower than either Davis or Reed's when healthy.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed Out for Monday Night’s Game Vs. Chicago

No surprises here as Reed (concussion) seemed unlikely to play all week. Backup TE Vernon Davis, who has caught eight of his 11 targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in 2019, is projected to see a 14% target share vs. the stingy Bears defense.

Davis is appropriately priced across the industry, but remains in play for SNF-MNF hammers and Showdown contests. With the lack of a top-tier TE in this two-game slate and QB Case Keenum averaging over 40 pass attempts per game, Davis could see decent volume in a game Vegas expects the Redskins to be trailing in.

Jordan Reed (Concussion) Out Week 2

Reed will miss his second consecutive game with a concussion, meaning Vernon Davis will remain in the starting role. Davis had an incredible 48-yard TD Week 1 and finished with 4 catches on 7 targets for 59 yards and the 1 TD.

Redskins TE Jordan Reed (Concussion) Out for Week 1

As expected, Jordan Reed is not going to be ready to go for the Skins. Veteran tight end Vernon Davis will start in his place and becomes a viable punt option. Washington may have a lot of pass attempts, as the team is currently close to a double-digit underdog for Sunday's game in Philadelphia, but Case Keenum's squad has an implied total of just 17 points.

Jordan Reed (Concussion) Unlikely to Play Sunday

The Washington Redskins promoted tight end J.P. Holtz from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, adding further doubt that Reed clear concussion protocol in time for Sunday's contest against the Eagles.

If Reed sits, Vernon Davis becomes a viable cheap tight end play, as he has had success in the past filling in for Reed during his lengthy injury history. The Eagles ranked in the middle of the pack in defending TEs last year, and Case Keenum could be forced to throw early and often with his team being 9-point underdogs. With Paul Richardson, Trey Quinn, and Terry McLaurin as the top WRs for Washington, Davis won't have much competition for targets.
