Mike Glennon Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

NYG QB Mike Glennon, WR Kadarius Toney, WR John Ross listed out for Sunday; WR Collin Johnson listed questionable

Mike Glennon, Kadarius Toney, John Ross all listed out for Sunday's game against the Washington Football Team, while Collin Johnson has been listed questionable. Mike Glennon is dealing with a wrist injury and if he were unable to go this weekend, Jake Fromm would likely draw the start. Fromm wouldn’t be a significant drop-off from Glennon as neither has been very good. With Toney and Ross ruled out, we could see some practice squad receivers (like Pharoh Cooper) get some meaningful game snaps behind Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton, and Collin Johnson. It remains difficult to trust any member of the Giants offense in DFS contests.

NYG WR Kadarius Toney, WR John Ross, and QB Mike Glennon DNP Thursday; WR Collin Johnson returned to practice

Kadarius Toney, John Ross, and Mike Glennon logged DNPs Thursday, while Collin Johnson returned to practice ahead of the Giants matchup against the Washington Football Team this Sunday. It seemed as though Toney could be trending towards a return after practicing yesterday but now it starting to look like the rookie's season will be over. It is encouraging to se Johnson return to practice as it looks like he could suit up this weekend. Mike Glennon is dealing with a wrist injury and if he were unable to go this weekend, Jake Fromm would likely draw the start. Fromm wouldn’t be a significant drop-off from Glennon as neither has been very good. If Toney and/or Ross were unable to play this weekend we could see some practice squad receivers (like Pharoh Cooper) get some meaningful game snaps behind Kenny Golladay, Darius Slayton, and Collin Johnson. It remains difficult to trust any member of the Giants offense in DFS contests.

NYG WR Kadarius Toney returned to practice Wednesday; QB Mike Glennon, WR Collin Johnson, and WR John Ross DNP

Kadarius Toney returned to practice Wednesday, while Mike Glennon, Collin Johnson, and John Ross all logged DNPs ahead of New York's matchup against the Washington Football Team this Sunday. It seems as though Toney is trending towards a return this week and could slot back in as one of the top pass-catchers for the Giants. Mike Glennon is dealing with a wrist injury and if he were unable to go this weekend, Jake Fromm would likely draw the start. Fromm wouldn't be a significant drop-off from Glennon as neither has been very good. If Johnson and/or Ross were unable to play this weekend we could see some practice squad receivers (like Pharoh Cooper) get some meaningful game snaps. It will be important to monitor the practice status of the Giants players as the week progresses.

NYG QB Daniel Jones and WR Kadarius Toney ruled out for Sunday; QB Mike Glennon, WR Kenny Golladay, and WR Sterling Shepard listed questionable

Daniel Jones and Kadarius Toney have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, while Mike Glennon, Kenny Golladay, and Sterling Shepard have been listed questionable. As expected, Daniel Jones and Kadarius Toney will both be unavailable this weekend. Most Giant beat writers believe that all players listed questionable have been trending in the right direction and will be able to suit up this weekend. With Toney out, it will likely be Golladay, Shepard, and Darius Slayton leading the receiving corps though none seem like very attractive options with Mike Glennon expected to be at the helm. UPDATE: Mike Glennon has cleared the concussion protocol and will start Sunday.

NYG QB Daniel Jones (neck) ruled out for Sunday; QB Mike Glennon (concussion) expected to be cleared for practice Friday and start Sunday

NYG QB Daniel Jones (neck) ruled out for Sunday; QB Mike Glennon (concussion) expected to be cleared for practice Friday and start Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Glennon struggled las tweekend against the Miami Dolphins completing just 23 of 44 passes for 187 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. With Glennon once again expected to start, all pass-catchers will take a hit to their expected production due to the inefficiency of Glennon. It will be best to avoid the Giants offense if at all possible in DFS contests this weekend.

NYG QB Daniel Jones (neck) status for Sunday in question, Mike Glennon now expected to start

Daniel Jones suffered a strained neck last Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles and his status for this Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins is in question. If Jones were forced to miss, Mike Glennon would likely start for the Giants with the newly signed Jake Fromm available to back him up. Glennon would be a downgrade from Jones and all Giants pass-catchers would see their expected production decrease. This could lead to a small bump for the Giants running backs as HC Joe Judge could elect to focus more on the run game. It will be important to monitor Jones's practice status throughout the week especially on Friday when the official injury report with game designations is released.

Jaguars starting Mike Glennon Sunday

The Jaguars are reportedly starting Mike Glennon Sunday, moving Gardner Minshew back to the bench. The Jaguars can secure the top pick in the NFL draft if they lose their remaining games, and Glennon gives them a good chance. He had a strong start Week 12, but was terrible the next two weeks. Glennon is an extremely risky play this week, and it is hard to see significant upside anyways.

Gardner Minshew could be benched today if he struggles vs Chargers Week 7

The Jaguars are reportedly considering benching Gardner Minshew today if he struggles against the Chargers. Week 6 was one of his worst games of the season, but was saved from a fantasy perspective by a rushing TD. His overall numbers are not significantly worse than last season, except for the interceptions - he has already thrown 5 in 240 attempts vs 6 in 470 attempts last season. If he is pulled, Mike Glennon is expected to replace him for the rest of the game, with the long-term plan not clear. This risk of being benched lowers the floor for Minshew, although he was not a safe play to begin with anyways.

Mike Glennon will back up Josh Rosen Sunday

This is worth noting simply because it won't be Sam Bradford, who started weeks 1-3 for the Cardinals. Josh Rosen will be making his first NFL start today against the Seahawks.

Mitchell Trubisky will start for Bears in Week 5

Per Adam Schefter, the Bears are making a change under center; they're giving the rookie Trubisky his first career start against the Vikings next Monday. It's a tough spot for his debut and he'll be working with a poor receiving corps. Chicago wants to be a run-first team but due to negative game flow, they often need to throw the ball more than they want to. In Week 5, they'll likely try to establish their ground game first, against a defense that ranks 16th in adjusted line yards per carry (per FO). If Case Keenum gets another start, the Bears have a better chance of keeping the game close as they have a solid defensive group. Should they need to put the game on Trubisky's shoulders, he may struggle to get the ball to his weak receivers against a tough secondary and instead rely on his running backs and tight ends. The rookie performed well in the preseason, posting a 106.2 passer rating, but he doesn't have many playmakers available, which makes it tough to trust him in fantasy. If anything, it looks like the running backs should continue to pick up plenty of volume. After the Vikings, the Bears take on the Ravens and Panthers. Fortunately, their schedule eases up with the Saints and Packers after that. Despite a cheap price tag, it may be better to take a wait-and-see approach and take a look at him in those better spots when he'll have a few games under his belt.
