Randy Foye Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) upgraded to probable for Tuesday; Joe Harris (shoulder) remains out
Kilpatrick has missed the last seven games due to a strained hamstring but is expected to play on Tuesday against the Sixers. Kilpatrick will likely remain in a reserve role and his salary has not really dipped during his absence. Kilpatrick was playing well before he got injured and his absence has mostly led to Randy Foye playing 26+ minutes. Foye will see a reduced role with Kilpatrick back in the lineup and is pretty much an auto-fade. Kilpatrick is a viable GPP option but with eight games on the slate, he's not a foundational piece. Joe Harris remains out and is out indefinitely.
Caris LeVert inserted into the starting lineup with Bojan Bogdanovic being traded
Caris LeVert will start at SF tonight with Bojan Bogdanovic traded to the Washington Wizards. LeVert has only made one start this season and did not play well in his 30 minutes. The Nuggets are not a strong defensive team and LeVert should be able to make value in the best game environment on the slate. With the Nets have a plethora of wing players, don't expect LeVert to play heavy minutes tonight. Randy Foye will also continue to start at SG but played under 20 minutes in his previous two starts. Foye is too risky on a 10-game slate and should be avoided
Joe Harris (sprained left ankle) upgraded to probable for Wednesday
Joe Harris has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game against the Knicks. Harris was the starter before he got hurt and Randy Foye has taken over his spot in the rotation. Foye has not been playing well as the starter but also has not seen over 22 minutes in consecutive games. With Caris LeVert and Sean Kilpatrick also available, the wing situation in Brooklyn becomes much more difficult to project with the expected return of Harris. With so many healthy bodies available for the Nets, they could opt to rest someone but if all four players are active, they all should likely be avoided.
Joe Harris (ankle) ruled out for Wednesday
Joe Harris will miss another game due to an ankle injury. Randy Foye started at SG last night but Sean Kilpatrick was still more effective off the bench. Foye could start against the Heat but it is unlikely since the Heat start Dion Waiters at SG. Look for another update from the Nets since they also rested Caris LeVert in their last game and he should be back in the lineup on Wednesday.
Nets starters: Dinwiddie, Foye, Bogdanovic, Booker, Lopez
Randy Foye will be inserted into the Nets starting lineup at point guard for tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs, sending Sean Kilpatrick to the bench to resume his reserve role. The Nets are without Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, and Jeremy Lin, meaning that there are still plenty of minutes available for Kilpatrick at shooting guard despite the "demotion" to the bench. In fact, he should see even higher usage with the second unit while playing similar minutes to what he would have as a starter. Kilpatrick and Brook Lopez remain the primary Nets players to target this evening, outside of a tournament flier on Bojan Bogdanovic with Kawhi Leonard resting for San Antonio.
Correction: Caris LeVert (rest) ruled out for tonight; Randy Foye starting at PG
LeVert will be rested and won't play in tonight's game against the San Antonio Spurs. The Nets are also still without Joe Harris and Jeremy Lin, meaning that there are plenty of minutes available for Sean Kilpatrick at shooting guard this evening. Additionally, Randy Foye will be inserted into the starting lineup at point guard, presumably sending Spencer Dinwiddie to the bench to assume a reserve role. However, neither are particularly viable options. Kilpatrick and Brook Lopez remain the lone Nets players to target.
Isaiah Whitehead will start at point guard over Randy Foye today
Whitehead will reclaim a spot in the starting lineup for today's game against the Trail Blazers, sending Randy Foye back to the bench in a reserve role. Whitehead will be joined in the starting unit by Bojan Bogdanovic, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Trevor Booker, and Brook Lopez. He should see minutes in the mid-to-high twenties and is a viable punt option in all formats for the early slate against this exploitable Portland perimeter defense.
Randy Foye will start over Sean Kilpatrick at point guard tonight
Foye will be inserted into the Nets starting lineup for tonight's game against Oklahoma City, sending Sean Kilpatrick back to the bench in a reserve role. Foye will start alongside Bojan Bogdanovic, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Trevor Booker and Brook Lopez. He had been running the point position for brief stretches in the past two games, so this move isn't all that surprising in hindsight. Kilpatrick is still priced as a starter around the industry, so he can easily be ignored on late swap sites this evening. As for Foye, he becomes one of the best value options on the slate in all formats.
Jeremy Lin (hamstring) continues to be out; won't play on Friday
Jeremy Lin will not play against the Thunder on Friday. Lin has not played since 11/2 and should be close to returning. In his absence, the Nets have used Sean Kilpatrick, Randy Foye, and Yogi Ferrell at PG. All three players are risky cash game options for Friday with Foye and Ferrell currently outplaying Kilpatrick. Also, Kilpatrick has seen his minutes steadily decline over the last two games since Yogi Ferrell has been seeing more minutes. Kilpatrick is not a true PG and will likely see a reduced role unless another player gets injured.
Isaiah Whitehead confirmed as the starter in place of the injured Jeremy Lin
Whitehead will draw the start at point guard tonight against Charlotte. However, Whitehead may just be a starter in name only, as Randy Foye is set to make his season debut tonight as well. Foye is more than capable of handling the point guard duties if Whitehead were to struggle or if the Nets simply want to roll with a backcourt duo of Foye and Sean Kilpatrick instead. Whitehead and Foye are better reserved as tournament punts until the Nets' backcourt rotation becomes more clear in Jeremy Lin's absence.
