Rodney Stuckey (left knee strain) officially ruled out for tonight; expected to miss 4-6 weeks
Stuckey is going to miss four to six weeks due to a patellar strain in his left knee. Stuckey was not playing much but was supposed to pick up the minutes left behind by the injured Glenn Robinson III. Stuckey has dealt with a myriad of injuries all season long and rarely did you miss having him in your lineups. The Pacers are running a tighter rotation with Stuckey and GR3 out. Al Jefferson is also out for a few weeks due to an ankle issue, but he was not a viable DFS option as well. Lavoy Allen has seen more of the big man minutes off the bench.
Rodney Stuckey (sore left knee) questionable for Tuesday
Stuckey was expected to take on a larger role with Glenn Robinson III out but is now questionable due to a sore knee. C.J. Miles moved back to the bench with Monta Ellis starting last night and will likely have to fill in Stuckey's role if he is out. Stuckey was not a major contributor and Miles also underperformed in his new role. Aaron Brooks has seen a slight uptick in minutes over the last four games but is still not seeing enough minutes to make a significant impact.
Glenn Robinson III (left calf strain) will not play for two weeks
Updating a previous report: Glenn Robinson III will be out for two weeks due to the calf strain. Paul George will likely play heavy minutes and Rodney Stuckey will be used in place of Glenn Robinson III. Stuckey is not a high-upside play on tonight's slate but could carve out a bigger role since GR3 will be out multiple weeks.
Rodney Stuckey available to play Monday
Stuckey has been dealing with injuries for most of the year, but he'll be available to play against the Thunder on Monday. He's played in just one game since the start of the new year (14 mins against Orlando on February 1st), so it's very unlikely he sees more than 15 minutes of court time against OKC. His presence does eat into the workloads of Monta Ellis/Aaron Brooks, but this news doesn't have much impact on the starters.
Thaddeus Young (wrist) and Rodney Stuckey (ankle) ruled out tonight; Lavoy Allen will start
Young and Stuckey will not play in tonight's game against the Detroit Pistons after previously being listed as questionable on the Pacers' injury report due to their respective ailments. Lavoy Allen will draw the start at power forward, which keeps the remaining members of the starting unit at their normal positions. It seems as if Allen and Kevin Seraphin will absorb a majority of the available minutes at power forward with Paul George occasionally sliding down from his typical small forward spot. With Young and Stuckey both officially ruled out, C.J. Miles becomes a particularly interesting tournament target, as he owns a positive 2.0% usage rate differential (21.7%) with the aforementioned duo off the court this season, while averaging roughly 32 fantasy points per 36 minutes. This sample size would presumably allow him to easily exceed his salary-based expectations across the industry even if he only sees minutes in the low 30's this evening.
Thaddeus Young (wrist) and Rodney Stuckey (ankle) questionable tonight
Young and Stuckey have officially been listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Detroit Pistons due to their respective injuries. It remains to be seen whether Indiana would prefer to slide Paul George down to power forward and just insert Glenn Robinson at small forward, or if they prefer to start a traditional big man like Lavoy Allen or Kevin Seraphin in Young's potential absence. If Young and Stuckey were both to be ruled out, C.J. Miles would become a particularly interesting tournament target, as he owns a positive 2.0% usage rate differential (21.7%) with the aforementioned duo off the court this season, while averaging roughly 32 fantasy points per 36 minutes. This would presumably allow him to easily exceed his salary-based expectations across the industry even if he only sees 30-33 minutes of action.
Rodney Stuckey out for Indiana on Friday
Stuckey played for the first time in forever on Wednesday but now has another injury to deal with as he suffered an ankle sprain. He'll miss the Pacers game on Friday and could potentially miss further games down the road. C.J. Miles is the biggest beneficiary of this news. Rakeem Christmas is also listed as questionable but he's not part of Indiana's rotation and has no DFS impact.
Rodney Stuckey (sore left hamstring) active and available to play tonight
Stuckey will be available to play off the bench in tonight's game against the Orlando Magic after previously being listed as questionable on the Pacers' injury report with a lingering hamstring injury that had kept him sidelined for 20 of the last 21 games. His availability off the bench will eat into the minutes of C.J. Miles, Glenn Robinson, and even Aaron Brooks, essentially rendering all four players unplayable until we see how the new backcourt and wings rotation shakes out with Stuckey back in the mix. None of the aforementioned players were realistically in consideration on a 12-game slate, but this rotation is certainly worth keeping an eye on going forward.
Rodney Stuckey hopes to play tonight for Indiana; will be limited if he does
Stuckey hasn't played since right after Christmas but told local media that he hopes to play tonight when Indiana faces the Orlando Magic. He is considered questionable along with Kevin Seraphin but neither are viable DFS options as their minutes will be limited if they do play. Stuckey's return would be a hit to the value of C.J. Miles who could be an intriguing low-owned value play tonight after putting up a massive dud the other night.
Kevin Seraphin (knee) and Rodney Stuckey (hamstring) ruled out tonight
Seraphin and Stuckey will not play in tonight's game against the Houston Rockets due to their respective ailments. This is the third consecutive game Seraphin has been forced to miss with a sore right knee, while Stuckey was fully expected to remain sidelined. Lavoy Allen will continue to pick up a few extra minutes behind Thaddeus Young, while a combination of Monta Ellis, Glenn Robinson, C.J. Miles and potentially even Joe Young will absorb the playing time vacated by Stuckey. There aren't any real daily fantasy implications here, but it's worth noting that Miles has been starting at the shooting guard spot and is consistently seeing over 30 minutes per contest in his new role. While his usage likely won't be as high as it would be with the second unit, that type of court time makes him a viable option at small forward in a pace up matchup with Houston.
