WAS TE Sammis Reyes downgraded to out for Sunday; TE Temarrick Hemingway and FB Alex Armah elevated from practice squad
Sammis Reyes has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, while Temarrick Hemingway and Alex Armah have been elevated from the practice squad. Reyes was expected to back up John Bates and lay in two tight end sets this weekend but this role will now be played by Hemmingway. Armah could also mix in at tight end as he has had experience doing so in the past. Neither Hemingway nor Armah is expected to see enough work to be considered in DFS contests.
WAS FB Alex Armah elevated from practice squad for Tuesday
Alex Armah has been elevated from the practice squad for Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Armah is not expected to play a major role for Washington and will likely only be used as a lead blocker in certain formations. Armah is not expected to be DFS relevant even on a two-game slate.
Mark Ingram, Alex Armah inactive Thursday night
In addition to not having Alvin Kamara, the Saints will be without both Mark Ingram and Alex Armah on Thursday night. Tony Jones figures to head the backfield with Dwayne Washington, Ty Montgomery and Adam Prentice all candidates to see work behind him. Montgomery has the highest ceiling of the dart throw options here, and it's likely he works into the backfield equation given how shorthanded they are. Washington is generally used as a special teamer but could see some work offensively, although it's not clear exactly how the backfield will shake out behind Jones.
Panthers plan to use committee at TE
With Greg Olsen sidelined, Rookie Ian Thomas was expected to replace most of Olsen's snaps after receiving some preseason buzz, but this now appears less likely given today's announcement of a committee. The real beneficiaries of Olsen's absence should be Devin Funchess and Christian McCaffrey. Both players averaged two or more targets per game with Olsen out last season, making them possible values in Week 2.
