Alex Collins Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

SEA RB Alex Collins placed on IR; RB Josh Johnson signed to active roster

Alex Collins has been placed on IR, while Josh Johnson has been signed to the active roster ahead of the Seahawks matchup against the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday. Collins has been dealing with an ab injury and the Seahawks have elected to shut him down for the rest of the season. With Collins out, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas will back up Rashaad Penny, who has emerged as the leader of the backfield the last few weeks. Penny will remain in consideration for DFS contests but draws a tougher matchup against an Arizona defense that has been playing better the last couple of weeks. Johnson was signed for contractual reason and should serve as running back depth. He is not expected to be DFS relevant at this time.

SEA RB Alex Collins listed inactive Sunday

Alex Collins has been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. Collins wasn't expected to play a major role in the Seattle backfield if active, he is continuing to work back from an injury and will remain out today. In his absence Rashaad Penny will continue to lead the backfield with both Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas available to back him up. Penny can be considered in DFS contests as he has showed the potential to have massive games and draws a good matchup against the Detroit defense.

SEA RB Alex Collins inactive Sunday

Alex Collins has been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Collins is a healthy scratch, meaning the Seattle backfield will be led by Rashad Penny with Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas available to back him up. Penny should see most of the early down work with both Homer and Dallas playing bigger roles in the passing game. Penny is the back most likely to be the workhorse but the Seattle backfield depth chart seems to change weekly, so roster a member at your own risk.

SEA RB Alex Collins activated from COVID list; TE WIll Dissly placed on COVID list

Alex Collins has been activated from the COVID list, while WIll Dissly has been placed on the COVID list ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears. Collins will likely slot back into his role splitting time in Seattle backfield. Seattle's RB situation seems to change each week and at this point it is best to just stay away from it outside of dart throws in GPPs. With Dissly placed on the COVID list and his status in doubt for this weekend, Colby Parkinson is in line to be the primary backup for Gerald Everett. Parkinson doesn't figure to see enough work to be considered in DFS contests.

SEA WR DK Metcalf (foot) DNP Wednesday; RB Alex Collins returned to practice

DK Metcalf (foot) logged a DNP Wednesday while Alex Collins returned to practice ahead of the Seahawks matchup against the Houston Texans this Sunday. Metcalf usually takes a maintenance day off early in the week so this is nothing to be too concerned about. It will be important to check that he practices on Thursday which he has the past few weeks, keeping with his routine. Collins returned to practice and is said to be feeling much better after resting last week. He should be in line to reclaim the majority of the touches in the Seattle backfield bus still has 3 other backs to compete with. At this point it is best to avoid the Seattle backfield until a more clear split emerges.

SEA RB Alex Collins inactive Sunday

Alex Collins has been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.HC Pete Carroll stated earlier in the day that Adrian Peterson would lead the Seattle backfield today, which makes sense with Collins being inactive (likely due to the injury he has been battling the past few weeks). Behind Peterson, DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer figure to handle most of the passing game work with Rashaad Penny also available to mix in. At this point it is best to steer clear of the crowded Seattle backfield in DFS contests.

SEA RB Alex Collins, RB Rashaad Penny, and RB Travis Homer listed questionable for Sunday

Alex Collins, Rashaad Penny, and Travis Homer have all been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. It could be a crowded backfield for the Seahawks or it could be desolate with the only back not currently listed on the in jury report being DeeJay Dallas (and the newly signed member of the practice squad Adrian Peterson). Collins would be expected to lead the backfield with all other member splitting snaps behind him. Until a clearer picture emerges it is best to steer clear of the Seattle backfield.

SEA WR DK Metcalf returned to practice Thursday; TE Gerald Everett and RB Alex Collins DNP

DK Metcalf has returned to practice on Thursday while Gerald Everett and Alex Collins logged DNPs ahead of their matchup this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Metcalf was likely just taking an extra day to rest yesterday and should be slated to assume his full role on Sunday as the Seahawks top receiving option. Everett has missed two practices in a row now and if he were to miss, Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson would likely split the tight end snaps with Dissly seeing the majority of the targets. Alex Collins is a new addition to the injury report and if we were unable to go the backfield would likely be split between Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer, and DeeJay Dallas. It will be important to check back on this situation tomorrow when the official injury report is released, as some running back value could open up for the Seahawks albeit in a difficult matchup.

SEA RB Alex Collins expected to play Sunday

Last week, Collins was listed as questionable heading into the Seahawks game, but ultimately played and carried the ball as the number one RB. Rapoport confirmed that he's expected to play once again through his groin injury, in a much better matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

SEA RB Alex Collins listed questionable Sunday

Collin was listed as questionable due to a groin injury ahead of the Seahawks game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the same designation Collins had last week, so it feels that this is mostly procedural; Collins feels far closer to probable. If he were to sit, Rashaad Penny would likely be the biggest benefactor, with Deejay Dallas and Travis Homer mixing in as well.
