Alex Collins has been placed on IR, while Josh Johnson has been signed to the active roster ahead of the Seahawks matchup against the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday. Collins has been dealing with an ab injury and the Seahawks have elected to shut him down for the rest of the season. With Collins out, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas will back up Rashaad Penny, who has emerged as the leader of the backfield the last few weeks. Penny will remain in consideration for DFS contests but draws a tougher matchup against an Arizona defense that has been playing better the last couple of weeks. Johnson was signed for contractual reason and should serve as running back depth. He is not expected to be DFS relevant at this time.

Collins will likely slot back into his role splitting time in Seattle backfield. Seattle's RB situation seems to change each week and at this point it is best to just stay away from it outside of dart throws in GPPs. With Dissly placed on the COVID list and his status in doubt for this weekend, Colby Parkinson is in line to be the primary backup for Gerald Everett. Parkinson doesn't figure to see enough work to be considered in DFS contests.

DK Metcalf (foot) logged a DNP Wednesday while Alex Collins returned to practice ahead of the Seahawks matchup against the Houston Texans this Sunday. Metcalf usually takes a maintenance day off early in the week so this is nothing to be too concerned about. It will be important to check that he practices on Thursday which he has the past few weeks, keeping with his routine. Collins returned to practice and is said to be feeling much better after resting last week. He should be in line to reclaim the majority of the touches in the Seattle backfield bus still has 3 other backs to compete with. At this point it is best to avoid the Seattle backfield until a more clear split emerges.

Collins would be expected to lead the backfield with all other member splitting snaps behind him. Until a clearer picture emerges it is best to steer clear of the Seattle backfield.

It will be important to check back on this situation tomorrow when the official injury report is released, as some running back value could open up for the Seahawks albeit in a difficult matchup.
