Alex DeBrincat Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This sophomore has a sneaky-good matchup tonight
Alex DeBrincat and the Chicago Blackhawks host a Winnipeg Jets team that has struggled a bit from a possession standpoint as of late. They've given up a 60.72 CA/60 which is the sixth-most over the last month while their 43.87 CF% ranks 29th. The Blackhawks have put forth plenty of opportunities as their 61.19 CF/60 is the sixth-best over the last month. DeBrincat is slated to skate with Patrick Kane and Artem Anisimov in a newly formed line that could prove to be dominant against a Winnipeg Jets team with plenty of depth.
This second-year player blew through any sort of "softmore slump".
Alex DeBrincat was a standout rookie last year posting a 28-goal, 52-point rookie campaign. He followed that up this year with an absolutely dominant 38-goal, 71-point sophomore season — and counting. He is now sitting atop the the Chicago Blackhawks depth chart on the first line with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. This is a team that over the last month has a 62.54 CF/60 which is the 6th-best in the NHL. They visit the Arizona Coyotes, a team on the opposite end as they've allowed a 60.34 CA/60 over the same time period which ranks as the 9th-worst.
This winger is showing that his rookie season was no fluke
Sophomore slump? Not for Alex DeBrincat. He has been absolutely dominant this season with 38 goals and 71 points in 71 games this season. He has solidified the second line to give the Chicago Blackhawks two players in himself and Patrick Kane that can carry a line and allow the Blackhawks to have a surprising top sixth depth that was unexpected coming into the season. Playing alongside mid-season acquisitions in Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini, this line was formed over the last few weeks and has been fantastic ever since. A matchup against the Vancouver Canucks who are on the tail-end of a back-to-back is a great one.
A change of scenery was what this winger needed to turn his career around
The Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs are likely to end up in a back-and-forth matchup tonight that should produce plenty of offense. The "third" line for the Blackhawks is comprised of Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini and it has been solid. Perlini even scored a hat trick last game which is quite something. Strome needed a change of scenery — and quite frankly to be given a fair opportunity — and boy has he taken advantage. Since coming to Chicago, Strome has put up 14 goals and 41 points in 44 games and looks to be producing like the 3rd overall pick he is.
Value Line Stack With Great Matchup
If you're looking for value in a line stack tonight, consider taking the second line of Chicago which features talented young playmakers Schmaltz, Hinostroza, and Debrincat. Fresh off a two goal performance in Sunday's loss to Anaheim, this trio of forwards has generated among the most shot attempts and scoring chances as a whole among road skaters on home ice this season. With home ice advantage on their side, look for head coach Joel Quenneville to get this trio in prime offensive zone faceoffs and matched up against one of the weaker defensive lines of Colorado to easily pay off their very attractive price tags in a game that should feature plenty of scoring.
Baby Blackhawk returns home after massive game in Carolina
Last night, the 5' 7", 165 pound 19-year-old by way of Michigan put together an excellent game in just 14 minutes of ice time. DeBrincat potted two goals and an assist as the Blackhawks erased a two-goal third period deficit to win 4-3 in overtime as DeBrincat’s handwork led to a Brandon Saad game winner. DeBrincat costs peanuts across the industry, and despite his limited ice time (13:46/game), using him in one of the wing slots can free up a lot of salary to grab an extra superstar tonight. DeBrincat is gaining the trust of skipper Joel Quenneville, and New Jersey is one of the worst defensive groups in the National Hockey League.
This 19-year-old is making a case for a much bigger role
While he hasn't quite made his way onto many highlight reels just yet, Alex Debrincat has quietly been very impressive in his first two weeks at the NHL level. The 19-year-old has scored a goal and added three assists in seven games thus far and is slowly starting to see his ice-time numbers increase. With the Blackhawks attempting to battle back in St. Louis last night, it became apparant just how highly Coach Quenneville thinks of his offensive game as he called Debrincat's number time and time again when the Hawks had the extra skater on the ice. His gaudy offensive numbers throughout the ranks on his way to the NHL highlight his offensive upside, and Quenneville looks more than willing throw him into high leverage situations already (he logged 5:20 of power-play time last night).
