Alex Killorn Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Almost a point per game after the All-Star Break for this winger
With Nikita Kucherov doubtful for tonight, Lightning coach Jon Cooper has decided to move Steven Stamkos to wing with Brayden Point as center and Alex Killorn moving to the top line. Killorn's price is not the discount it once was, but he is still affordable across the industry (FanDuel - $5,100, DraftKings - $5,300, FantasyDraft - $10,900). With or without Kucherov, Killorn's minutes are consistent and rising. Since the All-Star Break, Alex has accumulated 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) in 14 games while averaging over 19 minutes of ice time per game. Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point are the premier plays at center given the matchup with Buffalo, and Alex Killorn is a nice compliment to them in all formats.
This forward's production is vastly outpacing his asking price
Playing alongside Nikita Kucherov or Steven Stamkos is a fantasy gold-mine for just about any forward, but Alex Killorn gets to see playing time alongside both. He joins Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov on Tampa's top forward line and also has the luxury of joining forces with Stamkos (and Kucherov) on the #1 power-play unit. Still far too cheap across the industry, Killorn has thrived lately posting six goals and five assists in just 10 games since the All-Star break. He's already scored a goal and added two assists in two previous meetings with the Ottawa Senators and should have no trouble exceeding value this evening at this bargain price-point.
This Forward is Thriving in his New Role
John Cooper has been tinkering with his forward lines routinely over the past few weeks, but looks to have found something that's working. The biggest beneficiary of these changes has been Alex Killorn as he now finds himself skating alongside Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov at even strength while also holding down a spot on the wing of their lethal top power-play unit. Killorn has taken full advantage of these added opportunities as he's racked up six goals and five assists in just nine games since the All-Star break. Tonight, he'll face a Washington team that has allowed an unsightly 61.78 CA/60 since the beginning of 2018.
Pivot To This Line In Potential Shootout
If you're looking to differentiate your lineup without completely fading the Lightning in a potentially high scoring affair, consider taking the second line of Tampa Bay which features Point, Kucherov, and Killorn. With a combined 25 points over their last 10 games, this trio draws a sneaky good matchup against a Toronto team that owns the worst xGA/60 since January 1st on tonight's slate. Also seeing time on the league's second ranked power play, this line should have no problems paying off their manageable salaries in a game Tampa Bay will look to continue their dominance in the Eastern Conference.
Contrarian Line Stack Option
Playing on the Tampa Bay Lightnings third line and potent top power play unit, Killorn becomes a nice value for your cash game lineups and an inexpensive contrarian play in GPPs. The San Jose Sharks are not a team I like to target often, but they are playing their second game in as many nights, and the Lightning are nearly unstoppable on home ice. If you cannot stack the Lightnings expensive top line, simply replace one of them with Killorn, who is not only much cheaper, but also correlates well with the number one line due to his presence on the Bolts top power play.
