Alex Tuch Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Late night hammer with this winger

Provided Max Pacioretty is ruled out, which makes sense so as to not risk anything, Alex Tuch figures to slot into the team's second line with Paul Stastny and Mark Stone. Tuch checks in at $5,300 on DraftKings and $4,400 on FanDuel which make him a great option in all formats. With the arrival of Stone, Tuch has been quiet in the second half (9 point in 22 games vs. 40 points in 44 Pre All-Star games), but an opportunity on the second line gives Tuch a chance to thrive. Additionally, Detroit's quality falls off fast after the Larkin line which gives Vegas' depth lines significant value. Tuch is a nice tournament target.

This winger is thriving on his new team this season.

The Vegas Golden Knights have been playing at an elite level as of late. Over the last month, they have a 55.84 CF% which is the second-best mark in the NHL and a 66.84 CF/60 which is the best. They're hosting a Nashville Predators team that is elite, but has given up a lot of Corsi-against as of late. Their 59.38 CA/60 over the last month is the 10th-highest which certainly benefits the Knights tonight. The second line is preferred tonight with Paul Stastny centering Max Pacioretty and Alex Tuch. All three of these players have at least a point per game over the last month. They play on the same power play unit which gives them full-game correlation and elite upside.

This winger has been fantastic since the Christmas Break.

Since the Christmas break, the second line of the Vegas Golden Knights has been fantastic. While Max Pacioretty missed a few games, all three of the players slated to skate on line two today have been a point-per-game or better since then. Alex Tuch has 3 goals and 11 points in 9 games, Paul Stastny has 4 goals and 10 points in 9 games and Pacioretty has 2 goals and 5 points in the 5 games he has played. The three played on the same power play unit last game so if that is the case again tonight, this full-line stack has elite upside due to having full-game correlation. They take on a Winnipeg Jets team that have won four straight home games and have been leaning a bit more on Laurent Brossoit as of late with Connor Hellebuyck's struggles.

This player is back from the minors and looks to continue his hot streak.

With six goals and nine points in seven NHL games this season, there was outrage when Brandon Pirri was sent back down to the AHL. However, it was short-lived as he's back up in the Vegas Golden Knights lineup and playing on the second line with Paul Stastny and Alex Tuch. Both Stastny and Tuch have been playing solid as of late with both of them picking up 8 points over their last 10 games. The New York Rangers have struggled as of late with an NHL-worst 42.72 CF% over their last 10 games.

This "second line" has been on fire lately.

With the Vegas Golden Knights not exactly performing at the same level as they did last year, there is naturally been some struggles for the teams' top line. However, the second line of Alex Tuch, Cody Eakin and Max Pacioretty has been on fire as of late. Tuch has 11 points in his last 10 games, Pacioretty has 13 in his last 10 and Eakin has 9. They take on the Washington Capitals — a team that sits 24th in the NHL with just a 47.48 CF% — in what is a solid matchup. The Tuch-Pacioretty mini-stack is definitely in play as they play on the top power play unit together and Eakin is relegated to PP2.

Vegas Heating Up

After an abysmal start to the season Pacioretty has almost single-handedly lifted the Vegas Golden Knights from the ashes as he has pointed in eight of the last nine games. He has been able to register five multi-point games over that time frame as the chemistry seems to be forming between him, Alex Tuch and Cody Eakin. Edmonton has been playing a bit better on defense of late but it probably won’t be able to stop a line that has scored 14 goals to go along with 13 assists over the last eight games. This is your late hammer of the evening.

Vegas forward's price never seems to move

Alex Tuch continues to be priced in the basement on FanDuel where he is just $3,800. On DraftKings, Tuch is priced more reasonably and less of an option, but still worth consideration. After all, Gerard Gallant has planned to rest his regulars since Vegas is already locked into their seed. Tuch has quietly collected 37 points in 77 games on the season despite limited ice time (~15:00). Yet, in his last five games, Tuch has logged 18, 21, 17, 19 and 17 minutes and made the most of it, gathering a goal and four assists. Tuch figures to be involved again tonight in a game that means nothing to either team. Look for him to pick up at least a point and easily pay off his dirt-cheap salary.

Top Value Play?

With Reilly Smith out tonight due to an upper body injury, value play Alex Tuch will replace him on the Vegas Golden Knights top line, while also remaining on their number one power play unit. Despite spending most of the season on the Golden Knights third line, the 21-year-old former first round pick has steadily produced and he should be able to elevate his game tonight playing with much better linemates in a very favorable matchup at the T-Mobile Arena. At just $4,700 on DraftKings and $3800 on FanDuel, Tuch is easily one of the top value plays on the slate.

Golden Knight embracing increased role with injury to James Neal

Alex Tuch, even with a healthy James Neal in the lineup, has produced for the surprising Vegas Golden Knights. Tuch has tallied 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) in 63 games and is fresh off a two goal game in Detroit. While he is skating on the third line, it would not be surprising to see him move up to the second line with Erik Haula and David Perron if Tomas Hyka doesn't get it going. Adding to Tuch's value is his role on the team's top power play unit. Vegas sported February's third-best power play conversion rate (28.9%) in the National Hockey League. With a number of expensive priorities (i.e. Nikita Kucherov, Brad Marchand) on the early slate, slotting Tuch into lineups makes a lot of sense given his rock-bottom price tag.
