Three-game point streak for cheap Colorado top liner

Arizona is not the most exploitable matchup as they have the best penalty kill rate in the National Hockey League (85.6%). However, Alexander Kerfoot is making the most of his increased ice time. Kerfoot has picked up a point in three consecutive games while logging 19-plus minutes of ice time. Overall, Kerfoot has a goal and three assists as Colorado has put together a late surge even in the absence of two of their best players, Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog. Meanwhile, Arizona has struggled mightily lately, particularly on offense. Kerfoot still is under $4,000 on both DraftKings and FanDuel despite his increased workload.

Mikko Rantanen has been ruled out again tonight

With Mikko Rantanen ruled out again, Alexander Kerfoot should see a heavy dosage of minutes once again as the Avalanche are still without Gabriel Landeskog as well. Kerfoot logged a season-high of over 21 minutes of ice time last time out as he potted a power play goal. In the game prior to that, Kerfoot had a pair of assists. Kerfoot is now up to 37 points (12G, 25A) in 72 games despite limited ice time. Kerfoot is $3,400 on FanDuel and $3,700 on DraftKings which puts him in the conversation for all formats given the workload.

Top liner fresh off three-point night in Chicago

After a disastrous stretch after the All-Star break, Colorado has won four consecutive games in impressive fashion, outscoring four teams in playoff contention (Vegas, Winnipeg, Chicago and Nashville) by a combined score of 20-4. Last time out, Kerfoot collected a goal and two helpers as the Avalanche buried Nashville 5-0 on the tail-end of a back to back, no less. He is best served in tournaments as there is a relative boom-or-bust nature to the 24-year-old native of Vancouver. We should be in for a nice game with a handful of goals at the Pepsi Center tonight.

Young center has a goal in back to back games

If you are looking for a deep punt in tournaments at center, have a look at Alexander Kerfoot who has picked up a goal in consecutive games. With names like Nathan MacKinnon, Auston Matthews and John Tavares soaking up ownership at the top tonight, taking a chance on someone like Kerfoot and loading up elsewhere seems like an interesting approach in mass multi-entry tournaments. Kerfoot has 12 points (4G, 8A) in 19 games on home ice despited limited ice time. We have seen the Wild play some horrendous games over the last week so it's not out of the question for Kerfoot to be involved as the center on the second power play unit.

Colorado center climbing back up the depth chart

On a three game slate, Alexander Kerfoot emerges as an interesting tournament target given his boom-or-bust nature. Kerfoot has a modest 18 points in 31 games, but we have seen four multi-point games from him this season. He does not see much ice time, but it is hard to ignore his production last season as Alexander's 1.89 points per 60 minutes at 5v5 trailed only Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog on the team. Colorado's top line is of course the one to target, but Kerfoot could be an interesting compliment to them, especially since he will be on the second line rather than the fourth line. In four meetings against the Blackhawks in 2017-18, Kerfoot collected two goals and two assists while averaging just over 12 minutes of ice time. His price especially stands out on DraftKings ($2,700) to open up salary for the handful of superstars available. Take a chance with Kerfoot.

Sophomore Colorado center looks to get back to scoring ways

It will come as a surprise to some, but Alex Kerfoot's 1.89 points per 60 minutes at 5v5 last season was third-best on the team, ahead of Gabriel Landeskog and trailing only Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. Kerfoot tallied 43 points (19 goals, 24 assists) in 79 games in a subdued role. The Avalanche lean heavily on their top line which limits Kerfoot's upside, but the matchup is as good as it gets against the Senators tonight. Kerfoot is a worthwhile target in tournaments at $4,300 on DraftKings and $4,400 on FanDuel.

Cheap Colorado center opens up salary for superstars

A surprising first half of the season in which Kerfoot collected 32 points (12 goals, 20 assists) in 45 games behind a ridiculous 27.9% shooting percentage is long gone as the youngster has just seven points in 29 games after the All-Star break. Nonetheless, the matchup is as good as it gets tonight against a Chicago team playing on consecutive nights with huge question marks at goalie. Kerfoot has slowed down immensely, but he does have three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in as many meetings against the Blackhawks this season. Given the projected ownership of Nathan MacKinnon in tournaments, Alexander Kerfoot makes for a cheap contrarian play at center and/or compliment to MacKinnon.

This rookie is quietly being very productive

While it would be nice to see more shot volume, but It's tough to argue with Alexander Kerfoot's production through his first 1/3 of an NHL season. The former Harvard University standout has racked up eight goals and ten assists in 25 games and has seen his average ice-time steadily rise as the season progresses. Tonight the Avalanche will host a Buffalo Sabres team that has allowed an NHL worst 3.93 goals against per game on the road this season and Kerfoot remains extremely cheap across the industry. He provides exposure to Nathan MacKinnon as a member of Colorado's #1 power-play unit where he'll look to feast on Buffalo's ugly 73.3% penalty kill.

This Colorado rookie is wielding a red-hot stick

He may not be a household name (yet), but Alexander Kerfoot is one of the pieces the Colorado Avalanche will be centering their rebuild around. The Harvard University standout made headlines with his decision to sign a two-year entry deal with Colorado during the offseason, and after racking up 36 goals and 87 assists in 121 games during his college career, he's transitioned to the NHL rather seemlessly. Kerfoot has been red-hot lately, posting multiple points in each of his last three games and now owning five goals and four assists in his last nine games. Veteran DFS'ers have been somewhat conditioned in recent season's to avoid matchups against Braden Holtby and the Washington Capitals, but that shouldn't be the case right now as their nothing better than mediocre defensively thus far this season (3.11 GA/G and 58.38 CA/60).
