Devonta Freeman ruled out for Monday night
Devonta Freeman has been ruled out for Monday night, setting Wayne Gallman up to be the lead back for the Giants this week. The Giants are significant underdogs, which typically creates a bad game script for a RB, although Gallman is helped by being fairly active in the passing game. He caught all 5 of his targets last week, although they totaled just 20 yards. Dion Lewis should work as the second RB, with Elijhaa Penny and Alfred Morris also options to get snaps.
Cardinals Release Alfred Morris
The Cardinals released Alfred Morris Friday. He finishes with 1 carry, 4 yards and 3 snaps for Arizona. Between the Kenyan Drake trade and David Johnson making progress in his rehab, Morris was no longer needed.
David Johnson Inactive Tonight
David Johnson did some running on the field prior to the game, but he was ultimately not able to play. Chase Edmonds has also been ruled out, leaving Kenyan Drake as the lead back with Alfred Morris and Zach Zenner as the other active RBs. Starting right tackle Justin Murray was also ruled out, so the Cardinals offense could have a very rough night tonight.

David Johnson is officially questionable Thursday night, although his odds of playing are likely closer to doubtful. He was limited Wednesday after sitting out Monday and Tuesday. He will be a game-time decision, while Alfred Morris will be active for the Cardinals.

Edmonds has been ruled out, opening up snaps in the Cardinals' backfield. David Johnson is also a game-time decision, so newly acquired Kenyan Drake could be the lead back this week. Alfred Morris will also get snaps due to Edmonds being out.
