Anders Albertson looks to bounce back from a missed cut
PGA Tour rookie Anders Albertson has quickly gained a following in the DFS community. With one win and a third-place finish in the overall year-end Web.com Standings, Albertson asserted himself as a player to take notice of this season. Albertson wasted no time to post a top ten or better finish this season as he was able to post a top 5 in The Sanderson Farms during the wrap-around fall schedule. Ball striking stats like strokes gained tee to green and strokes gained approach will be popular metrics to use this week, and Albertson has shown early in his career the ability to thrive in those areas. Priced down due to his recent missed cut, Albertson, has the skill set needed to play well this week and stands out as a great play in terms of Pt/$/K in our projections model.

Like many other Web.com Tour graduates, Albertson knows that a hot start during the wraparound season can lead to a ton of momentum and valuable FedEx Cup points to start the season. In 23 starts on The Web.com Tour last season, Albertson amassed 14 top 25 or better finishes including a win at the Lincoln Land Championship. Still priced low in comparison to his recent play Albertson in the number one spot in terms of Pt/$/K in our FanDuel projections for the week. Albertson is quickly gaining popularity as a top value play early in the season, and if he can continue to play well at this price there is no reason to not plug this rookie into your builds for the week.
Fire Up The Value
Albertson checks in as my favorite value play of the week, and he’s dirt cheap everywhere. Boom! Don’t sleep on this new PGA Tour member. He was one of the better golfers to graduate from the Web.Com Tour last year, and he rebounded nicely last week at the Sanderson Farms after a missed cut in his professional debut. He fired a brilliant 67/66 weekend in order to finish in a tie for fifth. That should help him gain confidence moving forward, and he’s a great value this week. I am very encouraged by the way he closed out last week’s rounds, and he is a fine fit to round out your rosters.

Talent from the Web.com Tour
Albertson could very well become everyone’s sexy play of the week. If that’s the case and he becomes the chalk, I may have to reconsider. With that said, he’s one of the top Web.com Tour graduates that has his sights on playing full time on the PGA Tour. He played incredibly well last week at the Sanderson Farms Championship and could have easily won the event if his putter would have been more cooperative. He gained three strokes off the tee and ten strokes on approaches. He’s less than 100-to-1 to win in the betting markets and that number continues to drop (everyone is betting it down).
