Anders Lee Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Look for this stack to turn scoring chances into goals
It seems like the New York Islanders have disappointed us all season long. I can’t overlook them in a matchup here against a Buffalo team that has been in a complete tailspin. Buffalo has given up 3.11 GA/60 in the month of March. Mathew Barzal, Jordan Eberle, and Anders Lee are my go to stack in this game. The Islanders have generated 13.07 HDCF/60 in the month of March, which is very encouraging. Devon Toews is a great salary saver on defense and playing on the top power-play unit.
This center has a premium matchup this evening
Has everybody seen what is going on in Ottawa? After trading away three of their best forwards, they've been even worse defensively than they were before. Already as the worst defensive team in the league, the Ottawa Senators have allowed 24 goals over their last 5 games including 5 against these same New York Islanders on Tuesday night. As these two teams complete their home-and-home series, the Islanders top line is a focus for us. Brock Nelson is centering Anders Lee and Jordan Eberle — a trio of UFA's this summer. Nelson leads the team in points since Feb 1st and should have no problem continuing that trend against the lowly Ottawa Senators.
This winger has an interesting matchup against a struggling goaltender
*edit* and it turns out right after I finish writing this, Mike Smith is announced the starter. Adjust accordingly. --- "Big Save Dave" Rittich is likely in net for the Calgary Flames tonight and he has struggled as of late. Despite a 6-1-3 record over his last 10 games, he has a putrid 3.33 goals against average and a .887 save percentage. Additionally, the Flames have allowed a 58.95 CA/60 — 11th most in the NHL over the last month. Anders Lee leads the New York Islanders with 19 goals and in shots with 145. He sits third in points with 39 in 58 games, just ahead of linemate Brock Nelson's 37 and linemate Jordan Eberle's 26 in 54 games. This trio also remain in tact on the top power play unit with superstar Mathew Barzal, this gives them full-game correlation and high upside on a short, four game slate.
Sneaky Second Line For GPPs
If you're looking to differentiate your lineup in tournaments tonight, consider taking the second line which features rookie standout Mathew Barzal, Jordan Eberle, and Anders Lee. With a combined 26 points over their last 10 games, this line should get plenty of quality scoring chances against a Nashville team that is a different team away from ice. With home ice advantage at their disposal, look for head coach Doug Weight to get this talented trio of skaters in prime offensive zone faceoffs and against one of the weaker defensive lines of Nashville throughout tonight's game.
This winger has been a quiet sniper this season
The New York Islanders dominance offensively has been a big surprise this season, but one of the biggest surprises not only on the Islanders but in the league is the goal-scoring of Anders Lee. He is tied for third in the NHL with 27 goals and is showing no signs of slowing down. The Islanders changed their lines slightly by swapping Anthony Beauvillier and Anders Lee. With Lee lining up on the second line with Mathew Barzal and Jordan Eberle, he is still in a great spot despite being separated from John Tavares. Barzal is the front-runner for the Calder and should work well with Lee. A full line stack is certainly a great play, but a mini stack of Lee and Barzal is also an option as the pair are on the top power play unit together as well.
This winger is one of the least talked about snipers
If you were to look at the top three goal scorers in the NHL you'd see Alex Ovechkin and Nikita Kucherov as the top two, which would not be surprising. However, third on that list is New York Islanders winger Anders Lee which not many would be able to guess. While the goal scoring is a bit of a surprise, Lee did score 34 goals last season so it is not that crazy to see him filling the net. Lee is playing with John Tavares and Josh Bailey which has been one of the most dominant lines in the NHL this season. The Islanders are in Chicago to take on the Blackhawks tonight which is a bit worrisome as Jonathan Toews is likely to go out to shut this line down, however it is arguable that this line is matchup proof. Chicago will also be throwing Anton Forsberg between the pipes tonight, and he has struggled with a 2.92 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. This line should be able to have a big game despite a perceived difficult matchup and you may get one of the best offensive lines at a bargain ownership. Stack them up.
The New York Islanders have one of the most dominant lines in the NHL
Anders Lee has been playing alongside John Tavares and Josh Bailey for most of the season and the results have been unbelievable. Due the the insane numbers that Tavares and Bailey have put up, Lee seems to be the forgotten third member of this dominant scoring line. However Lee actually leads the way with 24 goals. The Islanders are in Colorado taking on Semyon Varlamov who has had his ups and downs this season between the pipes. This game should see a lot goals from both teams that making a game stack intriguing.
Multi-Point Night On Deck
The New York Islanders are once again one of the top teams to target tonight on this 11-game slate and their top line is the main attraction. John Tavares may be the top option on this line, but Anders Lee and Josh Bailey come at a discount in comparison, and they continue to produce at an elite level. In the month of December alone, Lee and Bailey have combined for 14 goals and 30 points in 12 games. The Islanders also continue to lead the National Hockey League in goals per game on home ice (4.24) this year, and I expect another big game from them this evening, with their number one line leading their offensive attack.
Moderately Priced With Multi-Point Upside
The New York Islanders just keeping scoring goals with their top line leading the way. The Islanders have now registered the second-most goals per game (3.50) in the National Hockey League this season, and they are number one overall when it comes to goals per game on home ice (4.20). As for production, the Islanders top line has been insanely good and consistent in December, combining for 16 goals and 39 points in 10 games. The Anaheim Ducks have now lost three straight contests, allowing 12 goals against in the process, and this will be their fifth game of a long six-game road trip, and I think we see the Islanders top line take advantage of that tonight at the Barclays Center.
Top Line To Target?
The Detroit Red Wings are an average hockey team (12-13-7) with below average defense, and I think we see the New York Islanders take advantage of that tonight at the Barclays Center. The Islanders have been one of the National Hockey Leagues best offensive teams, sitting second overall in goals per game (3.52), and first overall in goals per game on home ice (4.29). Led by superstar John Tavares, the Islanders top line has been one of the most consistent and lethal line stacks in DFS all season long, and they are once again at the top of our list tonight on this nine-game slate. In cash games, you are going to want to have at least some exposure to this potent line, with John Tavares and Anders Lee being your safest bets, and I strongly recommend you stack them up in GPPs.
