PIT WR Anthony Miller elevated from practice squad for Sunday
Anthony Miller has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Miller is expected to serve as receiver depth and is not expected to be DFS relevant.
Texans release WR Anthony Miller
The Houston Texans will release Anthony Miller after giving up a 5th and a 7th round pick to acquire him this offseason. The Texans signed Danny Amendola a few weeks ago who is set to return from injury and should take Miller's spot in the slot while the Texans have also signed Davion Davis off the Browns' practice squad earlier this week. Miller will finish his Texans' career with 5 catches on 11 targets for 23 yards and a touchdown in 2 games. Brandin Cooks remains the only semi-reliable offensive weapon for the Texans and this is strictly due to volume in a subpar offense.
HOU TE Brevin Jordan inactive Thursday; Anthony Miller to make season debut
Jordan will be inactive for the third straight game, while Miller will make his season debut for the shorthanded Texans. Already without Tyrod Taylor, the Texans will be working without Nico Collins and Danny Amendola. Miller will likely round out three WR sets, along with Brandin Cooks and Chris Conley.

As expected Davis Mills will start for the Texans on Thursday against the Carolina Panthers after Tyrod Taylor suffered a hamstring injury against the Browns on Sunday. Taylor is expected to be out multiple weeks and Jeff Driskel will likely serve as Mills' backup. Anthony Miller who has not been active the last two weeks will make his Texans' debut on Thursday while Nico Collins has been officially ruled out and Danny Amendola is not expected to play. The Texans will also likely elevate another wide receiver from their practice squad with the most likely candidates being Jordan Veasy and Chris Moore. Brandin Cooks should be firmly entrenched as Mills' number one option followed by Chris Conley and Miller as well as the tight ends Pharaoh Brown and Jordan Akins.

Miller won't be making his team debut yet, and was ruled out against the Cleveland Browns. Brown was upgraded from questionable and will fill out the TE slots in a crowded TE room. Other than Brandin Cooks, this team is one to avoid for DFS.

Anthony Miller, Scottie Phillips, Brevin Jordan and QB Deshaun Watson will be inactive when the Texans faceoff against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tyrod Taylor will be the starting quarterback with Davis Mills backing him up. Brandin Cooks should be the top receiver for the Texans and Mark Ingram and Phillip Lindsay should share running back duties.
Anthony Miller 2021 Fantasy Outlook
Per RotoGrinders NFL player projections, Anthony Miller is expected to be the fantasy WR82. He's being drafted on Underdog Fantasy as WR98 at pick 220, compared to his RotoGrinders ranking of 172 as of July. We currently expect a 15% target share which amounts to a projection of 86 targets (Rank 68) and 531 receiving yards (Rank 81) during the 17 week fantasy season.
After three mediocre seasons in Chicago, Miller is now in Houston where he will be competing with guys like Nico Collins, Keke Coutee, and Chris Conley to be the WR2 next to Brandin Cooks. As things stand now, we have Miller slotted for a target share (15%) that would actually exceed what he saw last season with Chicago (12.6%). That is leading to Miller actually representing a pretty solid value in the later rounds of drafts, and that is with Tyrod Taylor the assumed QB1 in our projections at the time I am writing this.
Darnell Mooney ruled out for Sunday
Darnell Mooney has been ruled out for Sunday, leaving the Bears without a top WR against the Saints. Allen Robinson will remain their clear top WR, with Anthony Miller behind him, and TEs Cole Kmet and Jimmy Graham likely looking at slightly elevated roles.

Gabriel has been ruled out for Sunday, his third straight missed game. Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller will both remain top options in the Bears' passing game.

Gabriel did not practice Wednesday, putting him on track to miss his fourth straight game. He will need to both progress in practice and clear the concussion protocol before he can return. Anthony Miller and Allen Robinson have been elite over the past three weeks, both totaling at least 20 catches, 250 yards and 3 TDs.
