Anton Forsberg Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Solid starts on home ice have yet to produce wins
After receiving seven goals from his offense on Saturday night, all the Blackhawks could muster was a measly goal against the Kings as they fell 3-1. Forsberg was decent in net, stopping 29 of 32 shots, and he continues to be solid on home ice (2.48 GAA, .923 SV%) despite the 2-6-1 record. The Kings proved to be a tough nut to crack as we saw them go into Winnipeg and outlast the Jets 4-3 last night on the tail end of a back to back. Forsberg and the Blackhawks draw an excellent matchup against an Ottawa team that is averaging a pathetic 2.18 goals per game on the road, second-worst in the National Hockey League. Forsberg is cheap across the industry, and on this short slate, he makes for a strong option, even in cash games.
Home/away splits make this goalie an intriguing option
Goaltending has been a nightmare for the Chicago Blackhawks without Corey Crawford, and a lot of that falls on Anton Forsberg who is 6-11-3 with a 2.95 GAA and .908 SV%. However, there is a bright spot for Forsberg who is coming off a one goal effort against a lifeless Capitals' squad on Saturday night. At the United Center, Forsberg has been unable to find wins, posting a 2-5-1 record, but he does have a 2.39 GAA and .925 SV% compared to a 3.34 GAA and .897 SV% on the road. Furthermore, in his one start against the Kings in December, he was a tough luck loser, making 21 saves on 22 shots as the Blackhawks' offense did not do much. Perhaps the clobbering of the Capitals the other night will give Forsberg some much-needed goal support. The important thing about Forsberg is his rock-bottom pricing across the industry which allows the flexibility to load up at different positions.
