Bill Haas Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Field update for The RSM Classic

Henrik Norlander and Kramer Hickok have both tested positive for COVID and will miss this week's RSM Classic. They will be replaced in the field by Ryan Brehm and Rhein Gibson. I would not either player to get added to the full week pricing pool, but we should see them available for round 2 showdown slates. Sam Burns and Bill Haas are the other two names to remove themselves from the field this week.

Ten Minutes to roster lock at The Safeway Open, no major news to report

With a little over ten minutes until the first PGA event of the 2021 season, there is no major news to report. ResultsDB will be up and running shortly after lock, please check back to see how your lineups stack up against the field. If you are playing showdown slates then you can gain a small edge by playing morning golfers this week. With POA greens there is always a strong chance that lower scores come from the morning waves when the putting surfaces are the smoothest. Good luck this week Grinders!!!

Multiple Monday WD's for the first event of the 2021 PGA Tour season

The PGA Tour season will start a new this week as the 2021 season will get underway on Thursday at The Safeway Open. Matt Kuchar added his name to the list of players who committed to the event to pull out on Monday. Joining Danny Lee, Jimmy Walker, and Bronson Burgoon, Kuchar will take a pass on this week's event. With only one week separating the first event of the 2021 season and The U.S. Open, there could be more player movement as the week progresses. Roberto Castro, George McNiel, Bill Haas, and Ryan Blaum have been added as replacements and should be in the pricing pool within the next 24 hours.

Former FedEx Cup Champion in need of a good week

Bill Haas enters the last event of the 2019 regular season in need of a good result if he wants to avoid missing the playoffs for the second straight year. The combination of injury and personal tragedy has this one time FedEx Cup Champion fighting hard to regain his status in the world of golf. Prior to last season, Haas had been a regular contender to make it to East Lake for The Tour Championship. In addition to winning the 2011 FedEx Cup race, Haas played well enough to qualify for East Lake three times in the last nine years. It does not take much to fall from the ranks of The PGA Tour and Haas is slowly starting to show signs of life ahead of this week's Wyndham Championship. With four straight made cuts including a pair of top 11 or better showings, Haas should have plenty of confidence as he prepares to play at a course that favors his game. Haas has gained almost 27 shots tee to green in his last five starts at Sedgefield Country Club including a pair of top-six or better finishes. Currently projected at a very low ownership number, Haas is the type of value play that could make a difference this week.

Ten minutes until roster lock make sure you have removed all players that are not in the field

It's been quite a busy week in terms of players opting to pass on playing at Pebble Beach. With ten minutes left until roster lock please take the time to make sure the players above are not in any of your builds. Good Luck this week grinders, as always we will have ReultsDB up shortly after lock so you can see how your lineups stack up in terms of ownership vs the field.

Bill Haas looking to build on great course history

The 2018 season is one that Bill Haas would like to leave in the rearview mirror. Playing in this week's field on conditional membership status, this former FedEx Cup champion will need a fast start to the year in order to improve his reshuffle number. Coming off a season in which he finished outside the top 125 in the year-end FedEx Cup standings for the first time in his career, Haas will look to build on past success in this event. In addition to his two wins at this event, Haas has 8 top 25 or better finishes in his nine career cuts made. This week looks to have plenty of options in the 8k to 7k range on DraftKings, and Haas has both the motivation and course history needed to make a great GPP play. Factor in that he could be one of the lower owned players in this price range, and Haas zooms up the board in terms of a great pivot for the week.

Bill Haas looks to get back on track

Multiple PGA Tour winner and former Presidents Cup Team member Bill Haas is playing this week's tour event on a conditional PGA Tour status. Haas fell short of the money needed to gain full status for this season via his medical exemption last year, so he will not have the luxury of setting his schedule at this point in the season. Motivated to play well, Haas enters this week with a very solid course history to build on. In addition to his runner-up finish at the 2010 RSM Classic, Haas has posted top 25 or better finishes in two out of his last four trips to Sea Island. In three fall starts Haas has posted two top 15 or better finishes and appears ready to put the 2018 season behind him as he prepares to battle his way back to the PGA Tour. A motivated Haas at a discount stands out as a great source of value for the last event of the fall swing.

Ready For A Rebound Season

I absolutely love this spot for Bill Haas. Sea Island is a perfect layout for his golf game, and he had posted three straight top 35 finishes here prior to a missed cut last season. I will completely throw out last year’s result, as Haas was simply in poor form as a result of his fragile mental state after the tragic car accident that he was involved in. He seems to have turned a corner now, and he is 3/3 making cuts in the new season with a pair of top 15’s. After all, it was only a few years ago when Haas was the selection as Josh Culp’s “Searching for a Specialist” pick in his RotoGrinders article for this event. Now that his form is back in a positive state, Haas is a great contrarian pick. He’s a fine pick on these courses that don’t require distance off the tee, and he’s my dark horse for a top 20 this week.

Bill Haas returns to competition after the loss of a family friend

Two days prior to the start of The Genesis Open, Bill Haas was the passenger in a fatal car crash that resulted in the loss of his family friend, Mark Gibello. Haas was lucky to have walked away with only a deep bruise on his left leg and a banged up ankle. Haas will tee it up in his tenth Valspar Championship this week and the event will most likely be an emotional one for the entire Haas family. Haas will have a tough week ahead of him, but sometimes in a tragic situation like this, the golf course can be a place of refuge. As the runner-up in the 2016 Valspar Championship, Haas knows what it takes to play well at Copperhead, and if he can get through the emotions of returning to action he could be an interesting low priced GPP flyer for this year's tournament.

Bill Haas has withdrawn from The Genesis Open

Haas was involved in a car accident late on Tuesday night. The driver who was a close family friend of the Haas family was pronounced dead at the scene. Haas was released from the hospital early this morning but will not play this week. Initially reported to be in serious condition, Haas is now slated to recover in full, but he has withdrawn from this week's tournament in order to head home. In an official statement from his agent, Haas escaped serious injury but is obviously shaken up.
