Bo Horvat Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Stacking vs. the likely chalk goalie can be a great play on a short slate
Okay, this is a pure long-shot tournament play, but Jake Allen is going to be the chalkiest goalie of the night in all likelihood given that the St. Louis Blues are -315 Vegas favourites. So, stacking vs. a chalk goalie that isn't very good could vault you up the leaderboard fast if Allen falters. Horvat is lining up with Jake Virtanen and Nikolay Goldobin, not the sexiest line in the world, but they will also be very low owned. It's a short slate and you can play these guys with basically anything else you want, so if you're multi-entering and using a bunch of the higher-priced lines, this is a solid cheap line that could go off.
The Ox looks to bombard the New York Rangers at the Garden
Center leaves a lot to be desired, but Bo Horvat emerges as a solid mid-tier option as the London, Ontario native has manufactured 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) in 12 November contests. His nose for attacking the net could pay off big as an already mediocre New York Ranger defense will again be without captain Ryan McDonagh. With Connor McDavid and Patrice Bergeron potentially neutralizing each other this afternoon, Horvat has a lot of potential at a lackluster position.
Fading This Line Would Be A Mistake Tonight
With the Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs and Dallas Stars looking like the top offenses to target, we are going to need to find some salary relief, as all three of these teams top lines are very expensive to roster. Although we can look to players like Zach Hyman, Jakub Vrana and Devante Smith-Pelly, all of these players lack power play time, making them a lot less appealing in cash games. So lets dig into some inexpensive options that see time on the power play. All three members of the Vancouver Canucks top line (Sven Baertschi, Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser) are certainly playable everywhere tonight. Not only are they moderate-to-low priced across the industry, they also have massive upside (as we saw Saturday night), and the Detroit Red Wings are a favorable matchup. Outside of the Canucks top line, we also have Jason Zucker and Kyle Connor. Both of these talented skaters play on their teams top line and number one power play unit, making them solid additions to your cash game lineup or as part of a line stack in GPPs. Lastly, we will look at the Vegas Golden Knights top two scoring lines. Sure, the Golden Knights have overachieved, but their offense is legit and the Maple Leafs are far from a defensive juggernaut. Both David Perron and Reilly Smith have multi-goal upside and they will not break the bank.
The Best Bang For Your Buck At Center Tonight?
It is not often I target the Vancouver Canucks offense, but I will have exposure to them tonight with this plus matchup on home ice. The New Jersey Devils may have an 8-2 record, but they have not been good in their own zone (ranking 24th in CA/60 and 29th in SCA/60), and this is definitely a team we can attack, especially when they are playing on the road. The Devils are also one of the National Hockey Leagues most penalized teams, while toting the 20th ranked penalty kill. With the Sedin twins and the Vancouver Canucks so called top line struggling to produce offensively, it is best we focus on the future of the Canucks, led by Bo Horvat. The former first round pick is starting to come into his own, and he is only getting better. Whether you are looking for some salary relief in cash games or you are eyeing an inexpensive line stack in GPPs, the Canucks young sniper should be on your radar tonight on this five-game slate.
