Brandon Bass Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan (rest) will both miss Thursday's game
With Griffin and Jordan both resting, Chris Paul, who at this point doesn't appear to be resting, should carry the load offensively with Marreese Speights, Brice Johnson and Brandon Bass likely to pick up the slack in the frontcourt. Diamond Stone may also find his way into the rotation if his knee issue doesn't keep him out of action, but Speights figures to benefit the most among the bigs from a DFS perspective. He's played a hair over 800 minutes on the year without those two on the floor - second on the team to Jamal Crawford - and carries a healthy 25.5% usage rate and 1.04 FPPM mark, so he'll carry a considerable ceiling at or near minimum price across the industry. Chris Paul is averaging 1.46 FPPM with Griffin/Jordan off the floor this year, albeit in a limited sample size (57.5 minutes) with an oddly low usage rate (16.5%). Paul will be an elite target industry wide assuming he suits up, while the other guards (Redick, Rivers, Crawford) will be forced to pick up the slack offensively, making all three viable punt plays. Especially if Diamond Stone isn't going to play, Speights is an option in all formats.
Blake Griffin (knee) listed as a game-time decision for Saturday
Blake Griffin is dealing with a sore knee and has a chance to miss Saturday's game against the Pelicans. Griffin rested five games ago due to a calf injury and DeAndre Jordan dominated in his absence. Jordan scored over 50 fantasy points in the double overtime loss and has huge upside against the Pelicans. Chris Paul had a triple-double in the game that Griffin rested and leads the team with a 28% usage rate with Griffin off the court this season. Marreese Speights and Brandon Bass would likely also see a bump in their value if Griffin were to miss on Saturday. Considering Griffin leads the team with a 31.4% usage rate on the season, the available wing players (Crawford, Rivers, and Redick) will likely also have to shoulder a larger scoring load.
Austin Rivers, Brandon Bass, and Marreese Speights expected to start
Analysis coming soon.
Lou WIlliams and Brandon Bass likely to be shut down for the season
The Lakers are looking to finish out their season developing the young players. Williams and Bass have not been officially shut down with the Lakers playing Tuesday and Wednesday. Williams did not play on Sunday and only sees major minutes when Bryant is out of the lineup. With Kobe expected to play in the remaining six games, Williams will likely not have a spot in the rotation. Bass also did not play on Sunday with Tarik Black getting most of the big man minutes off the bench. Black played 19 minutes but failed to make a fantasy impact. Julius Randle becomes an elite option with Bass expected to be out of the lineup.
Larry Nance (rest) will not play tonight
Nance will get a night of rest with the Lakers on the front-end of a back-to-back - he'll be back in uniform tomorrow night against the Suns. With Nance out tonight, look for Julius Randle and Brandon Bass to eat up basically all of the minutes at the 4 (in addition to some time at the 5) with Tarik Black likely to see a handful of minutes as well. Randle is a viable GPP target tonight and Bass can be utilized as a contrarian GPP punt, but Black isn't a DFS option.
Brandon Bass will play tonight
Bass will take the floor tonight against the Suns. He's been dealing with an eye issue this week which cost him a game against Sacramento on Tuesday, but should take on his normal allotment of minutes on Friday. Julius Randle's value doesn't really change, but Larry Nance and Tarik Black should now see fewer front-court minutes.
Brandon Bass' status up in the air for Friday
Bass has an eye appointment tomorrow and his status for Friday night will be determined at that point. If he's unable to go again, Larry Nance and Tarik Black will be candidates to receive increased court time, but neither is DFS viable at this time. We'll update Bass' status again tomorrow.
Brandon Bass (eye) ruled out
Brandon Bass was doubtful with an eye injury and has been ruled out. He was a low-end DFS play so he should not have been in any lineups. With Bass out, Larry Nance and Tarik Black should see a bump in value. Black is not going to be a factor either but Nance should be a viable punt play against the Kings.
Brandon Bass (eye) doubtful for Tuesday
Bass is unlikely to suit up tonight after suffering an eye injury in Sunday's game against the Knicks. Julius Randle's playing time likely doesn't change much as he should be locked into around 30 minutes, but Larry Nance and Tarik Black figure to eat up most of Bass' 22-26 minutes of court time. Neither Nance or Black are worth a look tonight even in a very appealing match-up with a Kings team that sieves fantasy points.
Brandon Bass (eye) did not practice Monday, iffy for Tuesday
Brandon Bass suffered a corneal abrasion in Sunday night's game with the Knicks and was not able to practice today. We'll consider him questionable for tomorrow - if he's unable to go, Julius Randle would become a safer play while Larry Nance would figure to see some extra run off the bench. We'll update Bass' status after tomorrow's shootaround.
