Brandon Marshall Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Saints have released WR Brandon Marshall
Saints have released WR Brandon Marshall. He never really made it onto the radar for New Orleans, so this doesn't have any real DFS impact on the receivers.
Tommylee Lewis, Brandon Marshall inactive for TNF
Tommylee Lewis and Brandon Marshall are inactive for the Saints this evening. Marshall's status isn't really surprising, and Lewis' status makes some sense with Tre'Quan Smith back active after sitting out on Thanksgiving night. Keith Kirkwood should slot in behind Thomas and Smith as the #3 WR, but that doesn't tend to lend itself to much volume in this offense so he's just a dart-throw for Showdown slates. The Saints have been tougher on outside WRs this year, which doesn't bode all that well for Smith, who has had most of his big performances at home this year. Michael Thomas should bounce back after a slow Week 12. Dallas will be without their top OT Tyron Smith, which is not going to help Dak's cause by any means and does make the Saints D/ST unit a slightly more appealing play.
Saints WR Brandon Marshall inactive Thursday night
Saints WR Brandon Marshall is inactive Thursday night as a healthy scratch. Marshall won't suit up despite fellow wideout Tre'Quan Smith being ruled out as well. The Saints called up Tommylee Lewis to the 53-man roster, and he may see some looks in Smith's absence. It appears Marshall isn't yet ready to take the field for New Orleans, but keep an eye on his practice status down the stretch to get an idea of if he may see the field soon for the high-powered Saints offense.
Brandon Marshall Signs With Saints
WR Brandon Marshall is signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. With Dez Bryant out for the year this was a logical move. However, if we expected minimum out of Dez, we can expect even less out of Marshall.
Seahawks released WR Brandon Marshall
The writing was on the wall after the veteran wideout played only 2 snaps in Week 8 coming out of the Seahawks bye week. They'll move forward with Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett, and David Moore in 3-WR sets. Moore's stock has actually been on the rise in the past few weeks which included a 97 yard, 1 touchdown performance this past Sunday. He remains below $4K on DraftKings.
WR Doug Baldwin (knee) to practice for first time Wednesday
It appears the Seahawks' top receiver may be available for Sunday's game at Arizona. He's desperately needed on a lackluster passing offense that has veteran Brandon Marshall struggling to get separation and deep threat Tyler Lockett forced into the slot. A return to full practice participation by Friday would give Baldwin a good chance to suit up.
WR Doug Baldwin likely to miss a few weeks
The wide receiver has a partial tear in his MCL and appears likely to be out for at least the next 2 weeks leaving QB Russell Wilson without his favorite target. The Seahawks also added WR Keenan Reynolds to the active roster today all but confirming Baldwin will miss time. Tyler Lockett and Brandon Marshall should take on bigger roles in the offense for the time being. Perhaps Jaron Brown will see a few more targets now as well. The Seahawks play at Chicago on Monday night.
Brandon Marshall (ankle) will undergo season-ending surgery
New York is extremely thin at receiver heading into Week 6 with Odell Beckham and Dwayne Harris also out for the season and Sterling Shepard considered day-to-day. With the litany of injuries at the position, they promoted WR Travis Rudolph from the practice squad Monday morning and signed WR Tavarres King. Roger Lewis will be elevated to a starting role this weekend and tight end Evan Engram should become more involved. Engram was held without a catch on just four targets this past weekend but he has a decent spot against Denver next Sunday, whose defense is allowing the sixth-most PPR points to tight ends this season. However, the Giants offense as a whole may struggle to move the ball and put drives together, limiting his potential upside. New York currently has an implied total of just 14.0 points.Considering their poor offensive line play on top of the concerns at receiver, the Broncos DST figures to be as popular as ever.
Brandon Marshall expected to miss "multiple games"
He was expected to miss some time after spraining his ankle on Sunday. New York is extremely thin at receiver heading into Week 6 with Odell Beckham and Dwayne Harris out for the season and Sterling Shepard considered day-to-day. They'll take on the stout Denver secondary this Sunday night and have an implied total of 15.0 points. Considering their poor offensive line play on top of the concerns at receiver, the Broncos DST figures to be as popular as ever.
Odell Beckham will undergo surgery, out for season; Sterling Shepard considered day-to-day
Beckham has a broken fibula and opted for surgery after seeking a second opinion - he's expected to miss the rest of the year. Sunday was an awful day for the Giants receiving corps as Sterling Shepard and Brandon Marshall both suffered a sprained ankle and Dwayne Harris fractured his foot, ending his season as well. Shepard was originally expected to miss a couple of weeks but he apparently has a chance to return for Week 6 as he's considered day-to-day; we'll have to see what he does in practice this week. With the litany of injuries at the position, they promoted WR Travis Rudolph from the practice squad Monday morning and signed WR Tavarres King. Roger Lewis will likely be elevated to a starting role this weekend - unless Marshall and Shepard can both suit up - and tight end Evan Engram should become more involved. New York currently has an implied total of just 15.0 points.
