Brandon Wilds Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Jaguars release RB Brandon Wilds

In a corresponding roster move to the signing of Jamaal Charles, the Jaguars have released running back Brandon Wilds. Look for TJ Yeldon and Jamaal Charles to lead the Jaguars backfield until Leonard Fournette is healthy.

Leonard Fournette looking doubtful for Week 2 per Rapoport

The Jaguars are reportedly not optimistic that Fournette will play Sunday, which has been the prevailing thought since Brandon Wilds was activated. It's looking very much like T.J. Yeldon is going to get the lion's share of the work with Corey Grant and Wilds acting in a complementary role. The Jags are slight dogs at home in a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game, but they have the advantage in the trenches and Yeldon's workload should result in solid value at his mid-range price tag.

Jaguars activate RB Brandon Wilds from practice squad

While Wilds himself may not be a relevant fantasy asset, this activation does not bode well for Leonard Fournette's likelihood to suit up on Sunday against the Patriots. Keep an eye on the situation, as Fournette being ruled out would open up a heavy workload for TJ Yeldon both in the run and pass game for the Jags.

Bilal Powell, Brandon Marshall, and Robby Anderson all questionable for Sunday; Matt Forte ruled out

ESPN's Rich Cimini believes Powell (knee, illness) and Marshall (hip, shoulder) are going to "try to play." It appears Anderson (hamstring) is closer to doubtful, as Cimini said it would be surprising if he suits up. Backup running back Brandon Wilds is also questionable with a hamstring injury. Overall, it's probably best to avoid the Jets, but there are some scenarios where Powell or Quincy Enunwa would be in play. Should Wilds sit, Powell has a better shot at getting a full complement of snaps, for example. Behind Wilds is rookie Brandon Burks, who's hasn't played a snap in the regular season yet. If Marshall and Anderson are both ruled out, Enunwa would become the de facto number one receiver and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick would not have many other options to throw to. However, no matter how the injuries shake out, targeting any Jets in Week 17 will be risky; they're best used on tournament rosters, if anything.
