Brendan Perlini Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This winger is showing that his rookie season was no fluke
Sophomore slump? Not for Alex DeBrincat. He has been absolutely dominant this season with 38 goals and 71 points in 71 games this season. He has solidified the second line to give the Chicago Blackhawks two players in himself and Patrick Kane that can carry a line and allow the Blackhawks to have a surprising top sixth depth that was unexpected coming into the season. Playing alongside mid-season acquisitions in Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini, this line was formed over the last few weeks and has been fantastic ever since. A matchup against the Vancouver Canucks who are on the tail-end of a back-to-back is a great one.
A change of scenery was what this winger needed to turn his career around
The Chicago Blackhawks and Toronto Maple Leafs are likely to end up in a back-and-forth matchup tonight that should produce plenty of offense. The "third" line for the Blackhawks is comprised of Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Strome and Brendan Perlini and it has been solid. Perlini even scored a hat trick last game which is quite something. Strome needed a change of scenery — and quite frankly to be given a fair opportunity — and boy has he taken advantage. Since coming to Chicago, Strome has put up 14 goals and 41 points in 44 games and looks to be producing like the 3rd overall pick he is.
Minimum-priced winger due for an increased role?
The Blackhawks have not skated since Sunday, so their lines will be something to monitor. However, last time out Brendan Perlini logged 12 minutes of ice time, skating with Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome on Chicago's second line. While Perlini has not found the same success in Chicago as Dylan Strome has, Perlini has flashed some upside before, as evidenced by his 30 points with Arizona two seasons ago. Two games ago, Perlini picked up a pair of goals. He is certainly boom-or-bust, with bust being the norm given the limited ice time, but if Perlini slots in on the second line with DeBrincat and Strome again, he is certainly worth one's consideration in this high-event matchup against the Buffalo Sabres.
The Arizona Coyotes have been playing extremely well as of late
This is your value line stack for tonight. The Arizona Coyotes have quietly been playing really well as of late. Over their last 10 games, they sit sixth in the NHL with a 64.2 CF/60 and 11th with a 29.61 SCF/60, both numbers that you would not expect from the team sitting dead last in the NHL. Using the Coyotes can save you a lot of money, Christian Dvorak is centering Max Domi and Brendan Perlini on Arizona's second line. Dvorak has five goals in his last 10 games including 29 shots on goal. Arizona is on the road but they are taking on the Buffalo Sabres, another terrible team. This game could be sloppy defensively and stacking this line saves you money allowing you to fit in some of the studs.
